In '97 this great little song came heartbreakingly close to getting to the top 40 on CHR/Pop... stopping at #41 in R&R.
There was a TON of great music in '97 and '98 and this was just one of those songs that got lost in the shuffle...
Despite it only getting to #41 nationally, it got to #1 on my PC and finished the year at #17 on my list...
Anyone else remember it???

I remember that song. It was a hit on Casey's Hot 20 in the late 1990s. I think I will download this song now. I like this song quite a bit. I can't believe that it came close to hitting the top 40, wow!

All I remember about this was that there was a little controversy about that "When I get your feeling' line being too similar to "Sexual Healing"

All I remember about this was that there was a little controversy about that "When I get your feeling' line being too similar to "Sexual Healing" I thought about the same thing myself when it first came out. But regardless of the lyrics, it was a good song.

I did enjoy this track, but it was all about the All Day, Every Day mix with Wu-Tang on it for me. Meth basically used the same lyrics for his single "Judgement Day" the following year too. I always found that entertaining.
Peace, Ben

WOW... I didn't think that this many people would remember this... Does anyone remember or know where it got to on Hot AC???
I REALLY got the urge to hear it last night, so I gave it a spin... still sounds great!
This was actually probably the 3rd song of theirs I really liked... they had an album called "Southside" in 1988 which featured a couple of great songs: "Everyday Now" and "I Don't Need A Lover"...

Good song! One of my favourites from 1997. I followed their singles for a bit after this but lost track after 'Summerson' or thereabouts.

i liked this... but there were verses of this song that eerily reminded me of martika's "love thy will be done." (or maybe it's just me...)

You know, I'd never thought of that before, but now that I play them both in my mind, I can see where you might think this... I like Martika's song too by the way. :)

Pretty sure this went to #16-#19 on the Hot AC Chart because I remember charting it in the low 30's on my PC at the time, which was primarily songs in the #16-#20 range on Hot AC, and #30-#40 on the Pop Chart.

I remember hearing this song on the "World Chart Show" in the spring of 1997. As I recall, it got pretty close to the top of the chart.

This is one of those songs that I never heard on the radio, but became familiar with it working at the mall back then (it got heavy play on the audio system there).

I played it a few days ago, in fact. One of my biggest hits of 1997 and it did cross over into 1998 for me as well. It had amazing longevity.

This song is great. I like some of their songs, especially their smash hit "Summer Son", JAM!
