Cute song, smash on country, but a little too sappy for pop radio at the time. I remember my station giving this a spin in the morning, but I think they said they were reluctant in playing this cheesy, sappy song. He then released "Oklahoma" which was OK. Then he faded into adolescence...

God, this was just dreadful.Β This was definitely not a country smash. Thankfully country radio avoided him like the plague.Β This was his biggest hit and it only got to #20.

My thoughts exactly.Β Where did he go ??? Haven't heard anything about him since this album. He kept releasing bad music. His second album was a Christmas album then he had a followup sometime in 2001 with awful singles like "She's My Girl" and "Elisabeth". Last year he released an album based on the poems of Mattie J. T. Stepanek. It flopped.

He had a few albums now and looked like a 4 year old on the cover of his Christmas CD. I thought he had a really strong voice though in 'One Voice'. Default's 'Wasting My Time' sounds like it too, in the verses. Anyways, he had a song on the Stuart Little 2 Soundtrack called 'Count On Me' (not a remake, I don't think) and he sounded pretty different... puberty hit. It was practically straight up pop.

Billy was dropped from Sony last year along with nearly half of the country roster when they were doing their country cleanup.
Tammy Cochran, Pam Tillis, Mark Chesnutt, Cledus T. Judd, Little Big Town, Brad Martin, Clint Daniels, and Wynn Varble were also dropped.
I loved One Voice as well as Oklahoma, but my absolute favorite was the 3rd single "There's A Hero." It was suppose to be released as a benefit single for St Jude's research but was cancelled at the last minute.
He did a song with Charlotte Church on her Christmas album called Dream A Dream (Elysium) which I also found amazing.

She used to play it in the car when she first got that CD. I actually didn't think it was that bad, for an opera song. "Drrrrrrrream a drrrrrrrrrream!...la la la la la la..."

I can't believe I actually liked this song when it was out. I haven't heard it since then, but I'd probably cringe if I heard it again.

Gilman has released 6 albums, but his last one was released in 2006. He's 23 now.

That was an absolute nadir point for Z100. As opposed to a high point when they played the heck out of Kelly Clarkson's "Gone" while the label was pushing them towards "Walk Away."
