I absolutely love this song! Easily my favorite by them. I never even liked any of there other songs until this one and then "Elevation", "Stuck in a Moment" and most recently "Electrical Storm".

This is by far my favorite from them but it is definitely a decent song. I charted it but it only peaked at #24

It's a really good song... one of my favourites from U2.

It's alright. I really only like their 80's music.

What's with the hate? This song is one of their absolute best. Brilliant even, I'd say. In my top five of U2 songs. A lot of their 90s stuff is really good, and I think better than 80s stuff in some points (same with "Beautiful Day' and "electrical storm").. The Edge's guitar lines were awesome, and the soundtrack to Batman: Forever had some equally awesome songs.
BTW, their best album IMO was Achtung Baby, which was from the 90s. I find The Joshua Tree to be overrated.

I became interested in music during a bad time for U2... heh.
This was the first U2 single released after I started listening to the radio. I didn't like it because it was too obnoxious and then right after this they came out with that crap from Pop, and this plus that was just about enough to nail them into a coffin. Then, if that weren't enough, they had to go and resurrect that ten-year-old pile of fresh-off-the-grill buffalo crap known as "Sweetest Thing" that would have been better off had it stayed where it came from & release it as a single, and I just about swore them off for good.
But they redeemed themselves with their stuff from All That You Can't Leave Behind & then I started checking out their older stuff, which made me a fan. I even like this song & a few of the tracks off of "Pop" now. But "Sweetest Thing" remains on the Top 10 all-time horrible list.

I became interested in music during a bad time for U2... heh. This was the first U2 single released after I started listening to the radio. Same here. :o I love the song though (still do, in fact.) I think after this song, they released "Discotheque" which I hated, so I didn't bother much with them. But then "Staring At The Sun" came along, and that was probably what induced me to check out their older material. And, unsurprisingly, their 80s songs blew me away. But I've always had a soft spot for the song that introduced me to U2.

I love the song! I haven't heard it since 1995(?).
"Weird Al" Yankovic made a parody of the song: Cavity Search.

This was one of the first songs I heard (maybe the first) on a very short list, where I was taken aback by how well it was recorded. The clarity and separation of sounds really came through the first time I put this on my CD player. (You can't tell this kind of thing through the TV speaker, or even the radio, for the most part.)

Definite U2 top ten. Very glam rock, which is something they hadn't done until this track and haven't really done since.

It's ok. It's nowhere close to being their best. With it's connection to a movie like Batman Forever, it just seems so gimmicky for a U2 song.

Love the video. The song... well, it's far from my favorite U2 track, but I like it.

I was in FYE the other day looking at U2 CD's because my Dad is a huge fan and found a Greatest Hits CD by them that had this song on it. I remember watching the video WITH my dad when the song first came out and we both wanted to know who sang it for ages.
The sad thing is, this song was stuck in my head until I found out two years ago who it was actually by. Anyone else a fan of this song? The video wasn't too bad either. Go Batman!

To think of it, this song was probably my intro to U2. I loved it then and still love it.
