Can anyone say reccurentitis?
Good song, very radio friendly. Deserved to be another top ten IMO. She should really have gone with 'Big Mistake' though. If she'd released that too maybe she'd be seen as less of a one hit wonder. 'Smoke' is a gorgeous song, but that was ridiculously un-radio friendly. Killed her really.

Marginal song. I preferred "Torn" (only the first 1,000 times I heard it though). "Wrong Impression" is good.

Yuck. Although at least this didn't get overplayed like the now incredibly annoying Torn.

meh, her voice was annoying and the lyrics bland, and the song obviously never matched up to the caliber of "Torn". Then again, I never liked Torn either, so...

Bland. Much blander than Big Mistake.
The follow up Smoke is amazing though.

One of my favorites from "Left Of The Middle".
This is very radio-friendly. I can easily see it on Pop radio today. :)

The US single version is much better than the US album version.

I do remember this song too. It wasn't as good as her U.S. debut single "Torn." But the song has some pretty good lyrics. The first couple lines of the second verse were kinda funny:
I dreamt about another girl in bed with you You just laughed and smiled Denied the proof We’re fine till I think of the problem

It's ok as a stand alone track but when you put it next to "Torn," it's just so inferior.

I heard it once a few weeks ago. To me it sounded like kind of like Torn, actually.

Amongst the most disappointing follow-ups to a huge #1 hit of all time (also see Donna Lewis)...
This song managed to spend 4 weeks at #44 on my personal chart... in fact when it "peaked", "Torn" was still in my top 10!!! "Torn" spent 13 non-consecutive weeks at #1 on my PC... while this one managed 6 weeks in my top 50...
I agree with that other post about "Wrong Impression"... that was a very good and underrated song... should have been a much bigger hit...

I loved this song when it was out and play it and Shiver much more often than the now worn out on radio Torn

I love everything Natalie does, but I agree with you, "Big Mistake" would have been my choice...or "Don't You Think", that's my favorite from her Left of the Middle Album. I still LOVE Wishing I Was There though. Always have, always will.

You seriously think her voice is annoying? She's actually one of the only female vocalists whose voice I adore.. I'm annoyed by about 98% of all female vocalists, Natalie is pretty much the only exception.

I've been trying to find the radio remix of this (and Donna Lewis' Without Love) for years to no avail. I liked both.
