I've been hearing this song from time to time on radio for years, and I FINALLY found out the name and artist. Really fun song! It reminds me a little bit of "I Wanna Be Sedated" and "Blister In The Sun." Since the artist has such a vague name, I can't really find any info on it, but I'm assuming the song is from the 80's. Anyone know where this peaked on the charts?

This song came out in 1994. It didn't hit the pop chart, but I think it charted on Rock or Alternative. Someone else can probably tell you more.

Wow.... I'm surprised it never even hit the Pop chart. It's always weird when songs that weren't really hits stick around forever as Golds. I hear this on Alternative, HAC, and even Pop (WPST).

#3 on Modern Rock #61 Pop
Debut date on Modern Rock was 10/93. They had 2 prior top 10s on Modern Rock, "Sit Down" (#9 in 1991) and "Born Of Frustration" (#5 in spring 1992.) From Manchester.

I actually have "Sit Down" around. My parents had both the tape and CD of the Alterno-Daze 90's collection, which included that song. It was great.
I think I like this even more.

Yeah this song is great, I never understood why it didn't do better on POP, maybe too "racy" for its time. It was re-done by Matt Nathanson last year, actually, maybe two years ago, but it was very ignored. However, this song is a classic in my opinion.

Great song by a somewhat underrated group.
"Born of Frustration" is my favorite of theirs, love that one.

Rediscovered gem. Someone found their old copy of the commercial breakout album this appears on, and I've been interlarding it into my listening routine the past few weeks.
This song is sexy in its own offbeam, dysfunctional little way, with dare-to-go-there lyrics juxtaposed over jubilant chords. I love the dichotomy it creates; I'm partial to pop's tantalizing underbelly.
I can see Franz Ferdinand or another band of jerky pop aficionados covering this in the near future. I envision James experiencing a rebirth of acclaim, popularity, and relevance. Only apropos, as they are newly reformed and active.

It's not "Come Home," but it's still pretty damn awesome.

Great song and album and, in general, band. Despite the success they enjoyed throughout the '90s, I feel like they were a bit overlooked.

Matt Nathanson has a cover of it as well on the American Wedding soundtrack from 2003. That's the first place I heard it. Love the song!
