I like Jason Mraz's sound, for some reason. I just think his records are funky and organic. He's on the cooler end of the Adult Top 40 spectrum, if you ask me. Anyway, this was his first bona fide hit, even though he'd been releasing music since 1999. The song was influenced by his experience with friend dealing with cancer, though I think it might be hard to guess that from the lyrics. The song is upbeat and fun; it's kind of like hip-hop influenced AC, if such a thing exists. I actually enjoy his performances of this song more than the recording. He's a pretty solid performer. Hot 100: #15 Adult Top 40: #4

Good topic, kid!! I love this guys's music altogether even though I do not own any of his albums. I especially like "Curbside Prophet" which I hear here and there on satellite business music channels. Thanks for sharing, I think I'm going to spin this song here, now!

I also like his music and performance style, especially the one displayed in this song. Other than "You And I", however, nothing has really affected me that much besides maybe his last single "Geek In The Pink".

This was his best release, (not hard to achieve that, though), but I loved it. I still remember where I was driving when it premiered on the radio. Excellent song.

I predicted on the old R&R boards that this would be a sleeper hit for 2003. I was right!

I actually had a dream about surprisingly seeing him in concert last night... and the same dream I found a pamphlet thing that had a list of performers in town (for some festival or town celebration or something) and KT Tunstall was performing down the street at a bar at 3:10am. It was such a funne dream!
Anyway, I love this song! His first of many #1s for me. I won't say this song got me into him because I bought his CD before I really got into his song. I think it was his connection to my then-favourite Chantal Kreviazuk (they were about to tour together) that got me into him.

I have both of his CD's and this song was my #1 of 2003! I've seen him twice in concert, the last time he was just a little over-the-top, but definitely enjoys performing for his fans.

Absolutely a great song. Missed out on being my #1 song of 2003 by only 3 points (though missing it was deliberate on my part, as I wanted "Don't Wanna Try" to finish as #1).

I like Jason Mraz. I like the quirky style he's brought to the table. In my opinion, his first album was definitely the best. The video to this song was awesome, too. I remember back in 2003 I'd see this video on MTV and VH1 all the time.

One of the few Jason Mraz songs I actually enjoy, it's catchy as sin.

I like it, but I likely wouldn't have cared less had it been out today.

Loved this, but always liked "Curbside Prophet" just a bit more.

I didn't know who sang this for years. Heard it around 2003 with my stepbrother in a car on the radio. Finally found out who it was recently on one of those countdown shows on FUSE. I think it was the 100 Pop breakthroughs or something like that. Funny though because I am very familiar with his other songs "I'm Yours", I Won't Give Up", etc.
I like the song. Fun tune.
