She wrote this song for the Butterfly album with Walter Afanasieff. It's probably my favorite on Glitter just because the vocals and production are both on point and I was so glad to hear that instead of those Jimmy & Terry ballads she'd been doing. It should have been the second single instead of "Never Too Far".

Hell! This should have been the first single... And "Never Too Far" shouldn't have been released, period. This is one of her best songs IMO. I can see why it wasn't included on Butterfly, though: It reminds me a lot of "Whenever You Call." Β It should have been the second single instead of "Never Too Far".

I agree, this song should have been a single. This is definitely my favorite track from Glitter. I'd love to see her sing this live.

I agree, they had such great chemistry together. Some of Mariah's most memorable hits were either produced or co-written with Walter.

ALL MY LIFE was a hot song, but it was just way too long on the album version...a edited radio version would have set this album right! One of the most underated albums IMO

"All My Life" was a hot song but it was just about 15 years too late to light up the airwaves.

Loved it, but it was too short. I was always shocked by how quickly those 3 minutes went by everytime I listened to it.

Glitter as a whole is a great album in my opinion. It's a shame it flopped. Many things attribute to the flop I think. One being its release date, and another I think is that this is different music than her fans were used to. I loved the "Glitter" era, it's just bad timing.
As for the song, I think it's a great song.

This song is worth listening to solely for that ridiculous run she does at 3:10-3:14. Incredible.

Easily the best song on Glitter and a personal all-time favorite MC song of mine.
Mariah has cited this is as one of her best ever vocal performances and with good reason; that super long note is breathtaking. Literally. lol

This song is really boring IMO, but her vocals are great. That long note...whew.

I love all of the ballads on Glitter, that album is so underrated in that aspect. Just a great song and a killer vocal. This should have been the single instead of "Never Too Far," not that it would have made a big difference at that time.

I only use this song for the insane melismatic riff she pulls where she hits like 30 notes perfectly within the span of 1 second.

This was a great song, and so was "Never Too Far". I think the ballads on "Glitter" definitely outshine the uptempos much more overall.
