I hope this does rebound. I think it will. It will take a little bit for radio programmers to warm up to it, I think. The songs is a grower though. I mean I did like it on first listen, but the more I listen to it, the more I like it.

What's the largest live crowd she has ever performed for? She seemed to be implying the one at Giant stadium would be the biggest yet it was mentioned at like 40,000. Will that be the biggest? Hasn't she ever performed for Wango Tango or anything like that before? I don't mean just a SSB appearance at a game, but a place where she at least did a few songs. like a real "show" or at least part of one.

Those who can't wait to see this song with a negative bullet will have to wait! #22 +150 YES! Like I said, we don't have to worry. RCA will payola Kelly to the Top 10 for sure! She is their top artist. There is NO way they will let her faulter Top 30. She's going TOP 10 with this.. don't worry!

Her performance this morning on Regis & Kelly has sold me on the Never Again live performance. She sang it in a higher key then the previous two performances and it sounded better.

I don't mean just a SSB appearance at a game, but a place where she at least did a few songs. like a real "show" or at least part of one. Wango Tango 2005 was at Angels Stadium which has a baseball capacity of 45,000+ but was reported to have a concert attendance of 70,000 based on ticket sales. The Giants Stadium concert is part of Live Earth 7/7/07 so I don't consider that or Wango Tango as a personal audience, since several artists performed and the audience was there to see most/all of them, not just Kelly. Last summer's Addicted tour sold out 18,000-29,000 sized (outdoor) amphitheatres, and her most recent international tours in Australia and Europe sold out 10,000-18,000 sized arenas. What is most impressive to me is that in Kelly's upcoming "My December" tour, she will be headlining shows at every stop's biggest arena/indoor music venue, ranging from 17,000-23,000 per show. After 15 million records, loads of number one hits and awards, and radio dominance for two years straight, it shouldn't amaze me how far beyond American Idol the girl has come....but it still does !!!

I just ignore the posts that mention payola, which half of JoS's posts do. Nothing against him, I just don't think RCA does that with Kelly. Otherwise we'd see a lot more overnight spins, right? We do know that RCA contacts radio to promote the songs though.

yep like all the top 10 songs so far have been payola'd I guess....
This song has really struggled and IMO it's just now starting to take off because of the call out information that RCA has been holding onto...it's been #1 on rate the music and promo squad for a couple of weeks, yet it's seen no increase in spins until now? in addition to having the video just released and promo just now kicking in.
I just really dislike how easily the phrase "payola" is slapped onto Kelly's songs... it's so dismissive of the quality of her music IMO.

The songs from her last album were amazing!!! as long as a song is goood, payola is welcomed

They probably did for the other singles too.

I'm on record as saying that I like this song, I even posted it earlier in this thread somewhere. That said though, I never thought this song was a very good choice for a first single, it sounds more like a non-single album track to me, and I guess I'm not the only one.

To go back to the Carrie/Kelly thing, I personally don't see how anyone in their right mind can be a fan of Kelly (as a person) and Carrie (as a person) at the same time. After seeing what Kelly has been through, fighting with the label to get her way, and everything in between (on all her albums), and then just watching Carrie stumble into success because she went country - it doesn't make sense. Carrie is 19's little pet and happened into success. If Kelly hadn't resisted, I don't think she'd have success.
Back to the song: I hope it continues to climb and get a better bullet. I love the song and her live performances.. but I know others feel the complete opposite.

I think that is the most ridiculous thing I've EVER read online. EVER! And once upon a time, Kelly was 19's little pet too (on her first album, also) so, I'm not getting your logic at ALL.

Drops from #8 to #12 on the Hot 100 for next week. Not the direction a first single from a new album should be going in.
She needs the airplay to pick up, yesterday.

Both are very talented, successful ladies, and are extremely deserving of it, and we don't need any fanwars. >:( The only part of your post that I agree with is Kelly winning the Clive vs. Kelly battle of her next record being Kelly's record. Had she not, she could have fallen victim to Clive, much like Clay has. Can't wait till 7/24 !!
