I'm not the biggest Katy Perry fan (understatement) but this is doing great. Moving towards the top 20 while already 17 on iTunes.
Looks like she will stick around for a while longer than I thought. This will be another Top 10 Hot 100 hit for her.
She should've been nominated for BNA.

I would be happy with this reaching top 20 on the Hot100; very happy with top 10; and ecstatic with top 5.

I still don't understand the complaints about her vocals on this song. I just listened to it again, and she sounds pretty good to me. I love how she sings the chorus.

She's coming off a big week last week, and she's only losing spins on 4 stations. I think she'll be fine. Hopefully Z100 will bump her up another rotation level soon. KIIS is also just starting to play her.

This is going top 10. It's an uphill battle, but I've started hearing this on the radio and already the girls I know are fawning over it. It's all about lyrical content here, it'll push this song towards the top.

Yeah, I think a lot of people relate to the theme, and it's not one that has been overused on pop radio in the past few years. That will help, although it won't make the song if enough people are turned off by the vocals. I don't think they will be - I think that's a generic criticism that stems from her live performances - the vocals here aren't bad - but whatever.

The reason why I don't like the vocals on this song is because, especially in the first verse, she does this whispery thing, the sound of which irritates me. Not that she can't sing (although I don't think her voice is one of her selling points, tbh), but instead the way she uses her voice in the song is where I have a problem. The choruses are fine by me, just not this sing-songy-talky-whispery way she does the verses, esp. "comparisons," and "SURprise center," LOL.

This realy grew on me. Once I got over the voice I could really get into the lyrics. They're very meaningful.
I still don't like some of the vocal choices she makes, because I feel like she's trying so hard to sound like Alanis and it's not really working- it actually backfires and makes the vocals rougher than they need to be.
But it's a very pretty song and beautiful vid, so congrats on the success. :)

This is a grower. We'll see. I don't like her, but this song has grown on me some. I had really hoped she'd be a one-hit wonder so I wouldn't have to hear her again, but it looks like that was a pipe-dream. I'd be surprised if this didn't rise into the top 10 down the line.
