She didn't thank her fans in the thank you notes on the album :(

It's not a webrip. It's an iTunes rip from a CD. It's AAC 256kbps. ETA-Listening now. Um, who produced this? It sounds like a bunch of Garage Band demos, produced on a laptop. It's horribly produced and sounds terrible. The songs are OK, but not anything outstanding. "Had it All" and "Lifetime" are the best ones off the album. None of the non-released songs are that good, IMO. Fuck. I did think the file was too big for a webrip. *downloading* Thanks!

I loved her debut! And this is only webrip, right? I hate listening to webriprs. I'll be waiting for retail to leak. But it did, Bitches.

Wow, it started out so promising. The first four songs are great, her voice is amazing. But from Surrender, it goes down hill fast. When it reaches the end, it feels absolutely dreadful.

I've listened to the album some more and it hasn't grown on me anymore. I really wanted to like it though.

It's Not Right Keep Drivin' Surrender How Say Goodbye Faultline Anybody's Heart Brand New Key
I'm impressed. I still feel the album could've used a bit more tempo but it's still a solid body of work. Here's to hoping Verve promotes it all throughout 2010!

...well that was anticlimactic. Seriously though. I don't love anything on this and I barely like it.

I love it...it is way better then the debut. It is mellow but I think her voice is amazing. My favorites (in order) are:
How Terrified Say Goodbye Keep Drivin' Lifetime Unbroken Surrender

I think Kat's hardcore fans will like it (as with any album put out by any artist) but I don't see this doing much of anything sales or airplay wise. For a record company that had such big plans for her, they gave Kat the shaft and handed her crappy songs and made her look terrible. Such a waste. Oh well. At least her fans get another CD out of the deal.

I enjoyed the album on the first listen - Surrender stood out the most to me. I'll have to listen to it more.

I love "Say Goodbye", "Lifetime", "Faultline" and "Unbroken". The rest I can do without. I'll be buying this purely in support of Kat, but I'm disappointed.
And what kind of mic did they use to record some of these songs? Her vocals sound like terrible on "Last Letter", "Surrender", "Say Goodbye" and "Anybody's Heart".

There are some beautiful songs on this album, I just wish there were a few more uptempo offerings.

Kat did a nice job on Larry King except where she said "Merry Christmas"... and then her backing track vocals kept playing, and she had to awkwardly keep singing. She sounded good though.

There's a lack of uptempo songs, but I'll still be buying it. I'm a big fan and love the debut (Each Other, Over It, and Everywhere I Go still get played weekly). :)

I apologize if i'm repeating myself, but they should send some songs from this album to country radio.

Well, I guess you can't please everyone but I simply love this record! She explores parts of her voice she never really has before. The subtle softness she shows on some songs is amazing. I also think some of the songs are the best written songs she has ever performed. I love the Lucie Silvas songs and Keep Drivin written by Kat is my new favorite of hers by a mile.
This is an adult record. It is not targeted at Top40/Pop radio at all. Any airplay on those formats will come from the songs like How and Terrified hopefully becoming big AC/HAC songs going forward. But in its targeted format and audience, I love it. No auto-tuners and samples needed here, just great vocals, great songs and great musicians.

See, I LIKE "adult oriented" music. I have a crapload of CD's by Ingrid Michaelson, Landon Pigg, Rufus Wainwright, A Fine Frenzy, Diane Birch, Lisa Hannigan, etc...
Kat's CD just isn't in the same league as them at all. It's a huge disappointment, IMO.
I might buy it though if the Deluxe edition has some good stuff on it. Any word on what the Target edition will have on it?

If Kat loves this CD then that is worrisome and doesn't say a whole lot about her musical taste. I can buy the fact that she loves that she got a 2nd CD, but to love the songs on it? Uh.... Ok.

Well she wrote half of them and did it with folks like Paula Cole, Rachel Yamagata and Luke Laird so it would seem logical that she would love them. Personally I think the Lucie Silvas songs are amazing, very well written and 3 of the best songs on the record. We will see how it does but to me I love her musical taste and the direction of this CD.

I don't like it as well, but it's all subjective. If she likes it and is happy with it, then that's what really counts. Good for her.

I saw most of the House Bunny yesterday. Kat was the weakest one of the misfits but she was still pretty funny. I SO called her singing during the karaoke scene tho. I told my friend, "That is a chick from American Idol...WATCH her find a way to try to sing in this movie". Even though she sang badly, I knew it was coming. at her being pregnant. She was hot even before the makeover tho, just simple looking.

One of the things I love about this record is that so many of the songs just scream for Film/TV licensing. She had an event for Film/TV music people 2 weeks ago, hopefully we will see songs like Unbroken, Lifetime and any number of others on some soundtracks real soon!
