I see. So what's the difference from the media base charts and the Pop songs chart? The pop songs and the mediabase chart are from different companies, The Pop songs uses the Soundscan numbers, and Mediabase has it's own numbers, so they are sometimes different. Also their official updates are in different days, and Soundscan never releases the #'s of spins like Mediabase.

OK, I see, thanks!
So is mediabase more important then? And if so Why? (I'm just wondering :))

(I'm just wondering :)) Mmmm, i think Soundscan is more important, because it's the one that counts for the Hot 100 and Radio Songs (Hot 100 Airplay). We only use Mediabase in this forum because it's easier to track updates with them, as we get updates daily. Soundscan only releases their chart once a week.

I guess you have a point. I still think the theme of this song is something that would go over the heads of a lot of people outside the U.S. Also it's not like this song was a complete bomb outside of the U.S., it still fared decently. Just not on the level of her first 2 singles. I think the vegas theme is pretty well known everywhere so it's not theme related. I honestly think this song only reached this level of success in USA because of American Idol... Just Like Pocket Full of Sunshine. Because fo the strong dl (and people really linking it) radio was unable to ignore it... I think both this and natasha's song could've been ignored and peaking in the 30's without much dls and people knowing about it. Did I make sense? I thought I did when I started the post Vegas was already starting to do well before the Idol performance. I don't think an Idol performance magically made it a #1 hit. That probably helped downloads, but that is it. I still don't get why it is so hard for people to admit that people like this song and it clicked with a huge audience. I know this is anecdotal, but everyone I know who hates Katy loves this song. And they don't watch Idol.

Hmm... it's not that I dislike the song, quite the contrary, but never expected #1. It's not really good enough imo.

It was the song that made me buy the album and it was the most immediately catchy song for me. I love the crescendo of guitars and drums at the end...it's so explosive! And the chorus is aggressive and melodic. I'm actually surprised it hasn't been more successful.

It's fun, as I said, it's not as if I dislike the song, I just much prefer I Kissed A Girl and Hot N Cold which peaked just as high if not lower in the case of IKAG - a little less rock pop and little more electro pop.

I think the bridge is probably my favourite part of the entire song. Love it.

Yeah when I listened to the album for the first time after already knowing IKAG and HNC this was the only other one that stood out for me. I'd put it about tied with IKAG for the 2nd catchiest song on the album.

I make them using a formula (which I just started using for Azriel's game) that works pretty well. It's more accurate towards the end of the week, of course.

Touch My Hand wasn't released as a single, so... Come Back to Me actually got a pretty big increase after AI didn't it? The song wasn't really hit material to begin with, but the very minimal success it did see was most likely due to AI. Although, I don't think this song's success is totally because of AI, I'm sure it helped it a good amount. And I agree, this doesn't feel like a #1 song, it doesn't even feel *that* big to me.

This is one of my favourite songs to hit CHR this year. It just makes me feel good when I hear it.

I'm surprised they didn't use this song in 'The Hangover'.

She's got it! Unless The Peas gain 250 spins or she loses 100, while they gain 100. Both scenarios seem very unlikely!

She's had the most CHR success save Lady Gaga of any new artist in quite a while, right?
