why dont they actually release "bottle pop" to radio? that has the best chance at a hit If it does get to radio, I'm being an optimist here and I say hopefully, it will be sometime in the summer. Unless their label has another mindless trick up their sleeve.

If they had released "Bottle Pop", it could have been a huge success...Then they could have had a large hit with this song as the followup. I do love this song, and it is single-worthy...but the timing is awful. Also, if they had released "Painted Windows" - it would be a better idea... They need an upbeat song on radio first...because of 'Jai Ho' flopping on radio, this will seem like two ballad releases in a row...Will that work? Who knows.
But I think we all need to chill... This is one of the best songs of the album...And I think it's a better ballad than 'I Hate This Part' as far as radio goes... This could get eaten up, or flop...

I'm pretty sure they're sending the remix.
It's on the re-release AND they perform it on tour.
Plus, allaccess doesn't have a sample of the song. Since it's a track on an album already released and readily available all over the internet I'd assume that's because the radio edit will be some version of the Dave Aude remix.

But I doubt the U.S. will be playing that version, if this song takes off. I think that, other than Z100 and Fun 107, radio stations would not want to play a full-on club song.
Hopefully though, the video kicks ass...They could kill it with this song, in my opinion...I just think that we all know that they won't.

Painted Windows is miles better than this song, I'm so confused with this song's release. I'm confident that Hush Hush won't even peak in the 30's.

I just heard that remix, and holy crap, talk about a monster flop in the making if that's the version they're sending.

And why are people calling PW a hit? ??? That's a disaster of a song that would flop harder than WTAT.

^^I find PW to have a better production than some of the albums best mid/uptempo's including Magic, Elevator, WTAT and JH.

I love painted windows, and it sounds like a hit to me. But I really really really want Elevator. Nicole and Melody sound so good on it! Love them both singing parts! Personally I never dug Bottle Pop, like Elevator, Jai Ho, IHTP, WIGU, all better, but it seems to be popular on here....

This era reminds me of E=MC2 soooo much!
TOUCH MY BODY / WHEN I GROW UP = Decent Top 10 Pop hit that the fans loved BYE BYE / WATCHA THINK ABOUT THT = Humongous flopped and killed the momentum LOVE U LONG TIME / I HATE THIS PART = Great songs that flopped due to the 2nd single mess STAY IN LOVE / HUSH HUSH = Bland ballads to the labels did not want to release the #1 uptempos MIGRATE or ELEVATOR

Looking at how this song is doing in countries like Turkey, the UK, Ireland, and Israel, it's a testament to the song's international success. However, its success on the charts has been questioned by some as it would appear that their version is riding on the coattails of the original, and that by combining the sales of the two, there's no telling which one has been doing better. we know the pcd version is the one that's smashing because that's the version that's selling on itunes and being spun on radio. ar rahman is actually kind of riding pcd's coattails because the original never could've done this well.

Bye Bye took its time then flopped. I hate this part went to 11 on pop and 11 on hot 100 while IBLULT went to like 26 on pop and 56 on hot 100. Stay In love was humongo flop and hush hush hasnt even been released yet so it could be a mega hit.

NOTHING they release now will work. NOTHING
Not even Elevator, Painted Windows, Take Over The World, NADA
And dont even start with the BOTTLE POP bullshit. That song is a straight up ghetto mess. It never takes of. It's plain, dull and boring. Leftover shit!

It never takes of. It's plain, dull and boring. Leftover s**t! On that note, that got me thinking of another alternative to releasing "Painted Windows": Just putting an end to the whole "Doll Domination" era and having all of the Dolls go on a long, indefinite hiatus away from music until things get straightened out overall, whether it's with the group, the label, whatever. Even Nicole should just leave her solo musical ambitions on the shelf. In other words, do nothing for a while and then slowly work on their next album where they can get back on track, have everyone in the group more involved in the process of recording the album, and hopefully bring back the magic they had with their first album. I'm being an optimist here, but I realize that's also wishful thinking.

They've had two hits from this album... and the ORIGINAL version of this song is good enough to be a smash. It's not a great choice, since we should get "Painted Windows" or a fast song like "Elevator." And it is ridiculous how all we are hearing is Nicole. But it could work...If they come to their senses and send the original for adds, and not the campy club remix...That would NEVER work on U.S. radio....EVER! The original has a chance...It's a good song... I know we didn't expect it...but the original album version is a highlight of DD...And a hiatus won't help them...After this is done, they need to take a half-year break and then come back with a new song...and have a shorter album, etc.

i don't know about the whole break idea...they aren't getting any younger. more so nicole than the others. she's 30 and if she waits around she'll have a short career.

Actually, this is turning out to be my favorite ballad of there's. It's strong, and I really like Nicole's voice in this one. I really hope that they can pull through with this one and get another hit... I miss them two years ago.

Weird comparisons. I do agree though that both eras were disappointing, simply because expectations were set so high. This era could have been much worse. They're lucky they got WIGU and IHTP as hits. It's enough buzz to set them up for the next album.

ok he's not riding their coattails but his song is doing as good as it is because of them. so in a way... Um...actually the PCD version has only sold a lot RECENTLY...but AR Rahman's original version was the one in the top 10 and the one that REALLY made #15 on the Hot 100 after it won at the Oscars...they just combined the original's sales with the PCD version, which didn't even make the top 50 at the time... PCD's version has only done well recently on iTunes...sorry guys. Totally wrong about that.

Okay, if not a half-year or a long hiatus, then just enough time in between albums, but not too close so that it doesn't look like their new material is a holdover from their previous disc.
Maybe something like Flo Rida - his last single off the first album came late last summer, the first single off the latest album started spinning late last year and into the first weeks of this year. So probably no more than 6 months, I suppose, just so that the interest is still there.

Now that Hush Hush is announced, they will commence work on a video for Painted Windows. After that, expect to hear "Elevator" on your radios within a month or two (if you listen at 3am--I don't expect it to get past Lunar Rotation.)
