If "Bottle Pop" is the best song that Britney never recorded, then "Hush Hush" is the best song that Wild Orchid never recorded. Seriously, I LOVE this track, but it sounds like something Fergie turned down 6 years ago. Remixing "Hush Hush" for a club-play single would be fine, but the label should be putting all their money and weight behind "Bottle Pop" which is the most radio friendly track that PCD have ever done. Exactly! This IS a GREAT Ron Fair record. I think that it should have been a single, but not now and not like this. And it sounds EXACTLY like the Ron Fair ballads Wild Orchid sang, like "The River," "I Won't Play The Fool," and, of course, "At Night I Pray." But releasing "Painted Windows," and THEN this...or "Bottle Pop" and THEN this, or "Elevator" and THEN this, would have made a huge difference. I don't think this has a chance at becoming a smash out of nowhere, especially since we know the promotional job that Interscope is sure to do on it... I'm sure they'll film a crap video and send out Nicole to do a bunch of TV performances AGAIN, on all the SAME SHOWS that they JUST did for 'Jai Ho.' And of course it'll be awkward as hell since it's all Nicole, and the other girls will just sit behing her on stools with microphones in their hands, even though this time there aren't even Nicole background layered vocals for them to lip-sync to. HYSTERICAL!

If they ever get around to releasing BP stateside, they should use the Digital Dog mix as the single version. The original production is so boring to me now.

Whatcha Think About That wasn't cancelled...they did end up releasing it and sending it to radio...they also sent the video to tv stations...it flopped so badly that they started calling it a 'promotional single.' By the way, in the US, a 'promotional single' only exitsts after the song flops...we never really release actual promotional singles like Japan and the UK. Bottle Pop was cancelled though... and Jai Ho flopped... Wasn't "Watcha Think About That" a hit overseas?

Why doesn't anyone else see the smash that is Halo? Yeah, Bey hijacked the name, but honestly, that track is the hottest thing PCD, imo, has ever put out. Different from anything they've done before.

Halo is amazing and I'd love for it to become a single, but I don't know how well it would actually do. Would it be a definite hit with a big "DUH! Release This!" slapped on the song like Jordin Sparks' "No Air", or would it be just one of those fan favorites, but not really a big hit like Natasha Bedingfield's "Angel".
I really don't think "Hush Hush" was a good idea. It might make the top 30 on pop if it's lucky, but I don't see it doing much more. Now "Bottle Pop" on the other hand, it's their only non-single in the Pop 300 on US iTunes. I know it has a video, but it was never released, and it would be huge if it was.

^That too is a smash. Closest thing they have to recapturing the Buttons success, I think.

yeah magic is a really good song. it should've been released but under these circumstances with the re-release and whatnot painted windows or bottle pop are better choices.

Hush Hush is actually growing on me, but I would rather have Painted Windows or Elevator. The only mis-step single wise(for me)was WYTAT, everything else, I loved!

2nd singles can KILL the entire album. Just ask Mariah, PCD, Madonna, Jesse, and Usher.

Yeah, Jesse and PCD had their third songs become hits... This would have been a good single...but 'Hush, Hush' shuld have come AFTER something like a 'Halo' radio edit/remix, 'Magic,' 'Elevator,' 'Bottle Pop,' or 'Painted Windows.'

i just want them to release it already so it can flop and be done with and they can move on! otherwise the US gonna fall behind the rest of the world because while they're finishing up jai ho and moving on to bottle pop or whatever else is next, we're gonna have to deal with hush hush and then probably bottle pop afterwards. we'll be months behind!
but i really have a feeling that since the uk is getting a bottle pop release, the rest of the world will too. i just hope they release PW after that!

Bottle Pop won't be getting a US release, not after they scrapped it for 'Jai Ho.' Then again - maybe I shouldn't put it past this era...but I doubt they'd try to release 'Bottle Pop' again. If 'Hush, Hush' flops - they will probably go with 'PW', since it's on the new album...or start over with a third era.

Should've done much better than the #1 R&B song of 2008?

For its first spin on Pop, probably a new music sample and not an official add for the radio station that played it. Or it could very well be a remix of the track played on the station's local dance party show, typical for Friday and Saturday evenings.
It will be interesting to see how much spins this track gets over the next week or so, with the adds date being April 28.

I do love this song...and it is one of the best on DD, even though there were obvious better single-choices...I want it to do well enough to end up on their Greatest Hits collections in the future...for when we're old and feeling nostalgic... I think that if it can make the top 40 of the Hot 100, even...that will be enough...And I mean with combined airplay and sales...'Jai Ho' doesn't count, because the original version without PCD was the one that sold here on itunes in the U.S., bringing it to #15...Without his version, it probably would have made #52.
