It'd be nice to know what the next single is- I think 'heartbreak' peaked several weeks ago. He said somewhere Binary Love for the UK at least. I think he wants to start making a push over there. He's just dealing with the limitations of his label. I'd imagine he'd go over big there. I would assume it'll be Binary Love here too, I believe/read he is also is considering Love or Torture. I've seen him at a number of club gigs in the past year or so and that one always goes over big, no idea why! I think they are riding out HOV a bit longer in the US. I know for a lot of us it has peaked, but it's still new to so many people. Haha he's definitely straight, He's just always been extremely open, and accepting of everyone. If you like him, he likes you. With dance music, you have to embrace the gay community, I think at first they didn't really know what to make of him. But it seems like they really like him now. There's a clip up of a new song "Til' We See The Sun (danny verde mix)" in the music player on his website, you get that if you buy the vinyl. or here ;)

Wow! I'm really surprised everyone here liked the album. I was a fan of American Idol back when he was on, but I couldn't stand his first album. When I saw that HoV was coming out last year, I just kinda shrugged it off. But I guess it's defintely worth a listen?

It's a bit different than Audio Day Dream, he's switched over to being a dance artist full time, it's a much more mature sound I would say, and the production value is better.
Or at least check out a few songs like Binary Love and Heartbreak on Vinyl, that's a pretty good definition of what his new sound is like.
I always wondered what A.D.D. would have sounded like if he had a few more months to put it together.

Caught his show yesterday @ SD Pride. It was kinda disjointed to me (too much beatboxing and layered/scattered vocals), but it was nice to meet him, get autographs & take pictures. He performed about 6-8 songs, including "Heartbreak On Vinyl" "How Many Words" "Love Or Torture" "She Loves It" "Operator" (DJ Dan & Überzone's) and a mashup of "She Will Be Loved/"With Or Without You."

I just recently listened to Heartbreak on Vinyl on MySpace, and I'm wondering why have I have been ignoring this CD. It's really really good. I must get it sometime this year when I have the chance.

I think Blake's a pretty great performer. I saw him back in the Audio Daydream days, there were only about 80 people in the room and he performed like the place was sold out. And amazingly, too. Glad to see he's on a bit of an upswing now!

I got Heartbreak on Vinyl in today from Amazon. I'm listening to it, and yeah, it's just really good. I knew he would do great things when he was on American Idol, and this album has proved me right.

I hope that his album was successful enough to make Tommy Boy release his next project.
I believe the 500 copies of the vinyl version his label printed are sold out.
I just wanna keep hearing music from this guy.

Thanks! I wonder if it'll be released as a single? It could later be one. The remake of "Fascinated" is the current single right now.

Yea I was there too! I agree with the disjointed. I think he tries to show EVERYTHING he can do when he's at a show like this. When, I think just singing HOV songs would of sufficed. But, also because his voice isn't very strong (he had some serious vocal damage when recording ADD) so I think he compensates by making noise. Overall though, I think it makes his shows fun and different, most people like the noises they think it's cool. I know it's different for fans, but for an average person, it's probably more entertaining. I loved seeing Operator though, that made me excited, hadn't seen that one before. Also "Till We See The Sun" is on iTunes now :) 3 remixes. Sounds like there will be more soon.

I kind of liked "Break Anotha" from back in the day. Didn't care for his last album. For whatever reason that preview isn't working for me, but I'll check it out sooner or later.

EXCLUSIVE: Blake Lewis Signs To Republic Records, Teases New TuneBy Lyndsey Parker – 3 hours ago “American Idol” Season 6’s beatboxing runner-up Blake Lewis hasn’t released a full-length album since his underrated 2009 Tommy Boy Records release, Heartbreak On Vinyl (the follow-up to 2007’s Audio Day Dream, which came out on the “Idol”-affiliated BMG). But he has never stopping working, recording, and collaborating, and those tireless efforts are finally paying off….as Yahoo!’s Reality Rocks is thrilled to exclusively announce that Blake has signed to major label Republic Records (home to Drake, Florence + The Machine, Alex Clare, Gotye, and many more). Blake’s third album, officially titled Portrait Of A Chameleon, will be released by Republic this spring. Portrait’s first single, “Your Touch,” will debut on a massive, global scale this Tuesday, but below is a 30-second snippet of the hard-charging electro-anthem’s killer chorus. Sounds like Blake and Republic may have a hit on their hands. Obviously, it is nearly impossible for any artist, particularly one that came to fame via a reality show, to get a second or third chance in the music business. But Blake cites more than just hard work when he is asked how he bucked the industry’s odds. “Besides my devotion to my craft, I really owe my career to my fans,” he stresses. “After my television experience, it opened a lot of doors into people’s lives and as soon as my music hit, the response was overwhelming. My fans truly keep me alive and striving to become a better version of myself every time I write a new album. I've been performing music for more than half my life, and my gratitude to the people who have supported me has never faltered. My fans rule! With that said, continuing to write, produce, and compose has brought a lot of new relationships to the table within the industry, which has allowed me different opportunities to keep working and collaborating through my music.” So what can fans expect from the new album? “The vibe of Portrait Of A Chameleon is fun, sexy, and positive,” says Blake. “The sound that I have been striving for is somewhat of a hybrid. The foundation of instruments are guitar Rhodes, beatbox, and ‘Decepticon’ bass—which I coined because my co-producer is an amazing sound designer and all the bass noises sound like evil Transformers. Everything we have made for this album is handcrafted, coming from an organic place. I’ve been writing it for over a year, and throughout that time I get inspired in different ways, so the sound is ever-evolving. I’ve also had the honor and pleasure writing with one of my favorite frontmen from one of my favorite bands—I don’t want to name names yet! This project is really close to my heart, so I've only reached out to people I trust and care about. My last couple of albums had too many people involved, and the creative had become lost because of it.” Watch this space for more details on Portrait Of A Chameleon and the global launch of “Your Touch” (trust me, it is going to be huge)…but in the meantime, check out some bonus instrumental audio of “Your Touch” below. Congratulations to Blake on his new record deal and new phase of his career!

Well, he looks HOT... and he's signed to a good label, so maybe things are lining up for him. Heartbreak on Vynil was a good album, so I'll definitely check this out.
PS: I loved Break Anotha back in the day lol

This... this is slaying me. :o I'm so glad he has come back. I was wondering what he was up to. I'm glad to hear that he got a major record label deal as well. So happy for Blake.

How Many Words was such a smash waiting to happen! I'm interested in hearing the new album but I would hope Republic would do some more promo for the single instead of just throwing the album out there.

He had some momentum last year with the IE promo and the use of Your Touch. It was disappointing to me that Idol never called him though, especially considering they brought runner ups that sang covers not included in recent albums I think he's a talented dude and will always root for him, so I hope he gets some success this era.
