^Ahem. Excuse you. Anybody who's anybody knows the words, ok? ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png) I, for one, think Kelly and David missed some opportunities by not releasing those songs. I'm still crossing my fingers for a "Cry" release. But would country even play them if they were released? No one seems to be able to answer my questions regarding country. Do they usually play non-country artists with "country" songs? If so, which was the last? "Who Says You Can't Go Home" by Bon Jovi was a number one country hit. But it also featured Jennifer Nettles, so I guess it doesn't count. And, uh Sweet Home Alabama or whatever he called it by Kid Rock was also a country hit, but southern rock can also be considered country rock, so I'm not sure if that counts eiter. And Kelly's country version of "Because Of You" got country play. But it featured Jesus aka Reba, so that probably doesn't count either way. Yeah. I think the only way Kris can get a country hit is by featuring a country artist. If he did a duet with Carrie, that would probably be a big country hit. That would actually be a really good idea. *Crosses fingers*

It played that one she did with her father, but I don't know if she has had any solo hits on the format before.

Doesn't country usually play Miley songs though? My country station has on there play list 3 songs from Breakout, Miley's last album that are pop country, plus the Climb and Hoedown Throwdown The thing with Miley though is that shes very involved in country music, she attends their events, goes to there awards shows, does some promo for there radio stations just like a lot of the country stars do. Also the whole daughter of a country star thing. there aren't many people who have songs crossover pop to country, usually its country to pop. I think Kris could be like Miley and Taylor and have success on both formats, hes got the talent to. its just I really can't think of anyone but miley whose recently had a the a song crossover pop to country. I guess if Miley can do it then Kris can to but its won't jsut happen, they'll have to make an effort to promote the songs to that format

The Bon Jovi/Jennifer Nettles duet was before Bon Jovi's country album. Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow had a duet chart on country a few years back, and since then, each has had some country crossover. Colbie Caillat's Bubbly charted on country. So, it is possible, but pretty rare, to have a pop song or artist cross over into country.

I just wanted an example of what kind of pop songs would cross over.

I really like Kris and I hope he does well. He is going to need a lot of label support because if he is indeed with 19 as management, they will bury him for daring to win over their precious Adam.

^ I doubt Kris's management would harm him just because they might have preferred an Adam win. They have a business to run.

If your song is country, then all you need is country cred to get played there. I think Kelly has enough country cred to get played there if she released a country song. Kris maybe not yet, but even just his performance with Keith was a good start.

It would be great that if by August or the latest September we hear a new single for the album! I'm so excited for a CD of his!!! I would love to see him on tour but honestly sitting through the whole show when I just like Kris,Allison, and a bit of Adam is really not worth all the money lol. I hope he becomes the most successful male winner of AI.

Idolatry interview up: popwatch.ew.com/popwatch/2009/06/kris-allen-idol.htmlIt's refreshing that we finally have an interview when he's not asked about Adam. I love the interview--as expected, it's his best post-Idol interview yet. Kris confirmed that he's a true musician who knows who he is, and uses music as a tool to connect with people, rather than just singing notes. I also like his quiet confidence... I really cannot wait for his album to come out. I also like his apron story. :)

He seems like such a nice, chill guy. I like that the idolatry interview gave him more credit for his idol performances. A lot of them were really underrated.

Idolatry/Michael Slezak/EW/Kristin Baldwin = Idol central...great great great coverage all season long. And yes, Kris had a great interview...now that I've calmed down and am not so bitter towards him, I really hope he is successful. I still don't know if he has what it takes to really stand out but I think he can get a hit with his first single, at least.

That was a great interview. He seems to know exactly who he is as an artist and that's really comforting.

I really cannot wait for his album to come out. I also like his apron story. :) I love that this interview pretty much confirms his fantastic musical sense. What a big contrast to Danny's interview which showed he had absolutely no clue on what's going on outside of gospel music world. Simon never gets Kris, both musically and personality wise. And I don't think he ever will (unless Kris becomes a massive success and Simon would turn around to save his face ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) ). The fact that Kris went out and perform on a piano after only learning to play it a year and a half ago...... if that doesn't show complete self-confidence, I don't know what does. I have complete faith I'll love Kris' album. But whether he sells 20K or 2 million copies, that would have to depend on many other factors, namely promotion, choice of first single etc.

Sources over WB told me that Kris Allen may be featured on a "remix" version of Ashley Tisdale's "What If", co-written by Kara Dioguardi. If that's true, maybe he's be signed by her same management?
