Should we expect Rolling to cross 7 million at some point? It's still a longshot to pass BEP, I think, but I would like to see it make it to that point at least.

Looks like Party Rock Anthem is about to sneak its way into the top 3 pretty soon, as well. I'd give it a couple more months (and about 2-3 weeks to pass Boom Boom Pow.) Also, I think Dynamite will outsell I'm Yours pretty soon, and the next 6m selling smash will knock I'm Yours out of the top 10.

RITD will easily pass 7m in the coming months. It sold close to 100k last week and is still number 23 on US Itunes and number 3 on Amazon digital - will probably sell about 75k this week. In fact, I wouldn't be too surprised if RITD reached 8m by the end of the year or shortly after. It would only need an average of 30k/week for the rest of the year which I think it doable. IGF sold about 2m in its 2nd year of release and 1m in its 3rd year of release, so I don't see why RITD couldn't pull in similar or even better numbers.

^I think RITD passing IGAF is a longshot, but I would be ecstatic if it did. Still stunned that one of the all-time worst songs is also the all-time best seller. (I don't dislike a party song -- in fact I really like Party Rock Anthem -- but IGAF is just lazy and insanely repetitive.)

Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" has become the biggest-selling digital song of all time by a woman in the U.S. -- and the second-biggest overall.
With another 99,000 sold in the week ending Feb. 26 according to Nielsen SoundScan, "Rolling in the Deep's" cumulative sales rise to 6.68 million, surpassing Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" (6.62 million) to become tops among all female-led tunes.
"Rolling in the Deep" is now second among all digital songs, only to the Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling" (7.82 million). "Poker Face" falls to third place.
Since SoundScan began tracking download sales in 2003, a total of 26 songs have shifted at least 5 million in the U.S.
As for the rest of the top 10 downloads of all time: Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" is the fourth best-seller, with 6.53 million, while the Black Eyed Peas' "Boom Boom Pow" is fifth with 6.34 million. LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem" is sixth (6.26 million), Flo Rida's "Low" is seventh (6.23 million), Ke$ha's "Tik Tok" is in eighth place (6.22 million) and Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" is ninth (6.02 million). Rounding out the top 10 at No. 10 is Taio Cruz's "Dynamite" with 5.90 million.

^True --------------------------------------------------------------
Of these top 14, these are their current iTunes ranking:
1. I GOTTA FEELING - # 166 2. ROLLING IN THE DEEP - # 21 3. POKER FACE - # 264 4. JUST DANCE - # 344 5. BOOM BOOM POW - # 326 6. PARTY ROCK ANTHEM - # 35 7. TIK TOK - # 367 8. LOW - # 299 9. I'M YOURS - # 197 10. DYNAMITE - # 135 11. HEY, SOUL SISTER - # 330 12. NEED YOU NOW - # 175 13. F**K YOU (FORGET YOU) - # 333 & 469 14. FIREWORK - # 130
Of course, these are always changing, but I think that shows a good indication of what's bound to outsell what at the moment. Tik Tok is actually behind Low, but her lead single and album might give TT that bump it needs.

Without actual numbers, this is hard to maintain. We do get the tracks chart frequently but it is not the same.

Poker Face is surely still ahead. I'm guessing PRA is either #4 or #5, depending on how much Just Dance has sold since February.

fun.'s "We are Young" is at 4,429,000 and still going strong. Gotye's "Somebody that I Used to Know" is in excess of 4,017,000 is doing even better in weekly sales.
These are both contenders for the all-time top five.
EDIT: One week later, We Are Young is at 4,591,000, and STIUTK is at (at least) 4,306,000.

01 I Gotta Feeling 7.9 million 02 Rolling In The Deep 7.1 million 03 Party Rock Anthem 6.8 million
It's only a matter of time before I Gotta Feeling reaches that all important 8 million milestone!

On Feb. 20, 2005, the Black Eyed Peas' "Let's Get It Started" became the first song in digital history to sell 500K copies. This week, this digital ground-breaker becomes the 138th song to sell 3 million copies. "Let's Get It Started," which was a Grammy finalist for Record of the Year for 2004, is the Peas' sixth song to top 3 million. Here are the others: "I Gotta Feeling" (7,950,000), "Boom Boom Pow" (6,407,000), "Imma Be" (3,706,000), "Time (Dirty Bit)" (3,283,000) and "Just Can't Get Enough (3,086,000). The Peas and Lady Gaga are the only acts with two of the top 10 digital sellers of all time.

yes, it has been about a year since we had actual data to feed this thread. My instincts tell me it may be a bit longer before we can revive this.
