Is this yet ANOTHER album of covers?!
All I have seen is that the title is "Pacific Coast Highway"
street date:Β May 25th, 2004
other covers include:
The Mamas & Papas "Monday, Monday" Beach BoysΒ "In My Room" Linda RonstadtΒ "You're No Good" Jackson Browne ? Eagles ?
I like their cover of GYOW.
Hopefully, Carnie Wilson's "I Don't Need You To" will see the light of day before next year.

I used to love them. This isn't half bad. I like it. Their harmonies are awesome.

This should make a debut either in the top 20 of the AC chart this week or very close to it.

JCMF3 - You are right! Wilson Phillips returns to the music scene with "Go Your Own Way" entering the Radio & Records AC Chart at #20 this week: www.radioandrecords.com/Charts/ac_chart.shtmIt tops the list in most increased rotations and is once again one of the most-added AC format songs (last week it led the list). Mediabase 7/24's rolling 7-day chart had Wilson Phillips also at #20 two days ago. A great start to the comeback effort by the girls. The commercial single comes out May 18th (one week before the album) and includes the track "Already Gone"

I like Chantal Kreviazuk. I also like a lot of the songs that WP have chosen to cover on this album... most looking forward to hearing "Monday, Monday" and "Turn, Turn, Turn" but alot of the tracks should sound great here in the sun-drenched state of California with the girls' gorgeous and sweet harmonies!

I love the Fleetwood Mac song, but I'm not sure Wilson Phillips adds much to the song.

Is this song done then? How very odd..... Of course not. I don't know why chebingeo is raising such a ruckus. Its bullet will obviously return soon... just like Shania's "Breathing" will soon have a bullet. How many times did Love's Divine lose its bullet on its way to its current position of #9?

Of course not. I don't know why chebingeo is raising such a ruckus. Its bullet will obviously return soon... just like Shania's "Breathing" will soon have a bullet. Well, in the past, songs that have debuted high on AC have faltered from there.Β Anyone remember "Still" by Brian McKnight?Β The song exploded on the chart at #20 and then stalled there for 6 weeks before descending off the chart. Another example: Elton John's "Friends Don't Say Goodbye" jumped onto the AC chart at #23. It ended up peaking at #21 a few weeks later and then made its exit. Anything is possible on AC, and although I wouldn't write off Wilson Phillips yet, stranger things have happened.

I'm getting the feeling that this is getting a lot of airplay on Delilah, which is causing it's gains/losses to fluctuate by the day even more than the average AC song.

Actually, the song is "Friends Never Say Goodbye" and the song peaked at #15 - wait, never mind, that was on that psycho AT20 chart... Something similar happened to "Song For The Lonely" by Cher. It debuted at 19 and only peaked several spots higher. Same thing with "Insatiable" by Darren Hayes. While it's true that song didn't debut in the Top 20, it made a gigantic jumo into the Top 20.

Anything is possible on AC, and although I wouldn't write off Wilson Phillips yet, stranger things have happened. On AC, "strange" is peaking very shortly after debuting high on the charts, like your Brian McKnight and Elton John examples, not losing a bullet shortly after debuting.

Mediabase shows +206 spins over last week (in the 7-day roll) with the song now up to 95 stations.
Looking great for the girls.
Anyone have an opinion on whether this song will get any Hot AC play?
I saw one Clear Channel Hot AC station adding the song last week... but this is a lot 'softer' than the WP of 1990-1992... so I am not sure if this single can cross over into any formats with more of a 'pulse'

WILSON PHILLIPS Go Your Own Way Producer(s): Peter Asher, David Rolfe Writer(s): L. Buckingham Publisher(s): Now Sounds Music, ASCAP Label/Catalog Number: Columbia 58462 (CD promo) Source: Billboard Magazine Originally Reviewed: May 15, 2004 Covering classic songs is a tricky endeavor. Listeners always compare the new version to the original, making more universally known songs the most difficult to cover. This is the case with Fleetwood Mac's seething rocker "Go Your Own Way." Many people know that Lindsey Buckingham wrote the song about his frustration with bandmate and ex-girlfriend Stevie Nicks. But Wilson Phillips, with its first single as a trio in 12 years, takes a light and airy, passive route. Now a ballad, the song floats by without any lingering impression. The harmonies are certainly lovely βjust as they always were. But where is the gut-wrenching emotion of the original? "Go Your Own Way" is the lead single from Wilson Phillips' covers album, "California" (due May 25), which, fortunately, includes tastier remakes than this one.βKC

GYOW continues to grow on AC radio.
Radio & Records new chart has Wilson Phillips with a big jump from #21 to #16.
The girls make waves among the most added songs and most increased spins.
Mediabase chart shows that today the girls enjoy +320 new spins versus last week!
It's so nice to see this talented trio able to find an audience for their beautiful voices on U.S. radio after a 12 year absence as a group.
