I love this song, as you all have been saying it's really great. The video's cool, it's good that it ties in with Barbershop 2, although that's not out for another 3 months.
This album isn't a mess, it's not her worst selling or anything really. Mary has never, in fact, been a #1 type artist, she's always been a release lots of singles that perform decently in favor of selling more albums. "No More Drama" was a big exception, mainly just because how huge "Family Affair" was.
The first two singles off "Love & Life" have both performed pretty well, people will remember them more or less, and they've generated enough attention. The album is FULL of hits, and "Not Today" is arguably the best. "Let Me Be The One" is also very very very good. I hope this makes waves.

I LOVE Eve's rap, it's the hilight of the song for me, along with the beat
Eve's rap is just great

Mary and Eve did a good job performing it at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. The crowd didn't seem too thrilled with it, though.

The song is doing a lot less than I expected. I don't even like it that much anymore. It peaked at #20 on my chart, the lowest ever for a Mary single.

She had another scream-fest towards the end. I don't get why she can't seem to sing in the right key when she gets excited. It doesn't sound good at all.

Damn, I didn't catch their performance...I watched the first half of the Victorias Secret show but then stopped, for some reason
I maintain my stance that Eve's verse is killer, and makes the song, along with the beat
but yea, it doesn't seem to be doing anything...maybe because the adds date has just passed on one format, and is still a week away on another?
maybe they waited too long to release it for impact?
It would be a damn shame for this song to fall by the wayside, but I don't see that happening, I think it will be a late bloomer, it's just too hot of a track to be ignored like this

You really didn't miss much. But Mary looked good in her fitted dress.

I really love this song. Mary J. and Eve's performance of "Not Today," on the 1st Annual Vibe Awards was awesome. It made me say the words, "Go girls!" I am feeling it so much, it is an excellent quality R&B single.

I like this song but not nearly as much as "L@1S" or "Ooh!" I know I'm in the minority though. :)

This song is picking up like whoa, it's most increased at Urban now with a huge +495 bullet, and 4th most at Rhythmic with +422. This may end up being Mary's biggest hit from the album so far.

Keep in mind that the bullet for "Love @ 1st Sight" was up to about +1200 or so by this point.

The bullet dropped below 300. This may actually end up being the least successful from the album after all. We'll probably still get another single though because Geffen isn't even counting "Ooh!" as a single.

I really like this song, it's among my favourites at the moment (mostly because of Eve's rap, and the beat) but it may be one of those songs that gets old fast.
I think it's really starting to shoot up Pop, and it was the challenger against Ruben's "Sorry 2004" on CHR/Pop WKSE Buffalo 98.5 Battle of the New Songs on Thursday night, I don't know if it won.

Rebirth seems to have called this-- as far as Urban goes. However, someone else also called this: it's taking off at Pop, which is the first single to do so I think. if that holds up it could make waves.

I am amazed that this may have more success at CHR/Pop than at Urban.

I'm amazed the a popular artist would have the third single do better than the first two. Mary J. Blige's first single was the most popular single from the album for her two albums before this, and possibly more albums before that. "Not Today" still has a long way to go to become the most popular R&B third single that I can name offhand that I've seen chart which is "Say My Name."
