I thought there was a thread about this already but I guess that was on another board. Anyway, what do you guys think of this song? It has been one of my favorites for a few weeks now. And how far do you think it will go. I think its already somewhere in the 20s and it has a decent bullet

This song is really cool
It blends two very unique artists styles, and has a great beat.
I like it alot, and hope it does well

A few weeks ago Wyclef said they were going to shoot the video soon.
But wasn't Clef hospitalized for dehydration a few weeks ago? I wonder if that affected any plans for a video shoot.
I hope they shoot a video, I can't wait to see it, this song is SOOOO hot!
It came on the radio earlier, and I fully blasted it!

I heard this song on the radio just now and the version that I have on my computer is completely different than the one i heard on the radio. wyclefs lyrics are different and he sings differently. it seems like they chopped it up

OMG, there's a part where Missy sings in arabic. That;s so awesome. I was with some friends tonight and one of them started singing this song! I asked her what she's singing and she told me "Party to damascus". I downloaded and it's true. I'm excited lol To top it all off, the song is actually good

are you talking about the part before they sing "its official, grab your glasses, cuz this partys going to go to damascus"? Right after Wyclef says "You got me speaking another language"

This is a great song. I like the video too.
This is the kind of Rhythmic song that would've been huge a few years ago. So refreshing to hear this amongst all the Chingy and Lil' Jon crap. Now THIS is the kind of Rhythmic song that I'd like to see crossover to Pop.

Right after Wyclef says "You got me speaking another language" Oh, so that's actually Arabic? I always wondered what the hell she was saying! What does she actually say in Arabic? I love this song, it's got such a catchy beat to it.

In one Wyclef sings the verses with his customary Marleyesque vocals and in the other he raps them. The 'sung' version is the official single while the 'rapped' one is the remix. The lyrics are different in both versions. Me likes the song. Peace out, Andree

Yes, that really is Arabic
My father is Armenian, but I hear him speak Arabic sometimes, and in the song they say "Habibi", which means sweetie/sweetheart in Arabic
when they say "Oh habibi, ish-kadela" or whatever
This song is sooo hot...
I wonder why it did so poorly on radio? It was the biggest dropper on the Hot 100 last week, down 26 spots from #66 to #92 :o
It doesn't make sense to me

yup, "Habibi" is kinda like saying "my sweetheart". a parent can say that to their kids, or a wife can say that to her husband, so anybody can use that. i jokingly call my some of my friends that LOL!

I think this song should have made the hot 100's top 20. it seems as though several stations played the song on and off so it never launched. maybe his next single will do better

I dunno, it can't get much hotter than Party to Damascus, but there are some hot songs on his album
Rob, yea my aunt from Chicago always calls me Habibi when she is visiting here, she is Assyrian

This is the first Wyclef song I've liked in years, a shame that it didn't do better. Sounds good in the clubs too.

This is the first Wyclef song I've liked in years I haven't liked much of what he's done since the "Guantanamera" days. But this is becoming a favorite now. I love the verse about how the girl's dad is the Army's #1 sniper and Wyclef is worried about sleeping with the fishes in the ocean. LOL
