FMQB said this would come out in august just so pulse could have a thread on this song in the chr/pop forum. Hahaha :)

The people who say this'll flop because of Halo are funny. Did anyone care that Poker Face, Just Dance and Fire Burning were all extremely similar? Poker Face & Just Dance are from the same artist. That makes it even worse.... 'Poker Face' and 'Just Dance' have essentially the same beat and very very very similar instrumentals I don't know what al the fighting is for though. The next single is AG. No point in debating it or arguing about which will do better... And honestly, the 'Halo' similarity thing has been killed now. just let it go...

The truth is that AG will only need to survive the Halo comparisons at the beginning. I had a hard time getting over the similarity at first but the more I listened to and fell in love with AG the harder it was for me to hear the similarities. Each one takes on a life of its own and you begin to hear them differently. Think of it like meeting a pair of identical twins. You can't possibly tell them apart and think you never could. However, spend a fair amount of time with them and you begin noticing things that set them apart and suddenly you think "yeah, the look alike but I really don't see how people can't tell them apart!" The same thing will happen to AG if it will just take off and be given a chance.

I don't think Just Dance and Pokerface sound identical. Like, I heard the songs well before Gaga ever hit it big before her cd even debuted and never even for a second thought they sounded alike. No one else I know did either. It has just been a few posters here that swear they are identical songs and I don't get it o-O I feel the same way about Already Gone and Halo. Chop off the first 10 seconds or so and give it a different intro. Would people still scream it is "the same song"? Try singing the choruses together. Do they really flow that similarly to one another?

I still really wish this was second. Hook Up only brought this era down like I knew it would. Now I'm praying for this to go top ten.

JD and PF definitely sound similar, I don't see how anyone can deny that. But anyway, not to get off topic...these sound similar too, but does it really matter? So many songs sound similar to previous hits lol. It's not a total carbon copy anyway. Fire Burning isn't, and I'd say that shares as many similarities to Poker Face as this does to Halo - same style and format, but not a carbon copy. Well, it´s my opinion. I think it will flop- Pepole is tired of bleeding love-halo.battlefield type songs.(at least I am) Well, we'll see what happens. But if this song can't hit, I don't think anything left on the album can.

I don't hear it lol. Like I said, it has basically only been here that I have heard anyone say that. I am hoping it is the same with AG/Halo (Pulse music boards obsessed with them being the same song when no one else really hears it)

I LOVE THIS SONG! But... terrible choice TOO similar to "Halo." If they held this off until fourth or fifth single, then it might do better, but I don't have high hopes for this since it's being released almost as soon as "Halo" goes recurrent. It worked for "Just Dance" and "Poker Face," but they were the same artist, this time it's two different artists. "Don't Let Me Stop You," "If I Can't Have You," "Long Shot," and "All I Ever Wanted" would've done WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better.

Once again, there is NO way those songs are stronger than this for radio.
If this isn't radio-friendly, nothing left on this album is.

This will do fine! I really don't get the Halo comparisons except for the first 20 seconds...

I think that after this song the label should release "Don't Let Me Stop You". I think it has great radio potential. My second choice would be 'If I Can't Have You'. None of the others though. Let's just see how this does

When I heard the album, I thought Already Gone was a filler track. The ballad of the album, to me, is "Cry." So when everyone started raving about AG, demanding it's release, I was thoroughly confused. As I said, I would choose DLMSY, IICHU, Impossible, and LS before I would even consider the tuneless dreck that is AG. Well, obviously, my bitching won't stop it's release, so we'll just have to wait and see.

I really like DLMSTY, but the production on it is horrible. Who did it?

Let's just see how this does I agree with that, but this is more radio-friendly than both of those songs. So if this does well, I can't see either of those doing well either. And I don't get why people say Cry is pop-friendly. It has smash potential...on HAC. On CHR it would struggle to hit the top 15.

Everyone can keep arguing what song would do better at radio, or what songs are most "radio friendly" or whatever, but the label has already made up its mind so guess we'll never know. They picked a track that is catchy to some people, so right there you have at least some support for this song. Plus, pop even brought a non-hit Kelly single to top ten which not even Rihanna could do with her momentum after "Umbrella."

It is my favorite track off of the album and I'm so pumped it's being released :) And this is the type of song that could give the album a well needed push :)

Beyonce is such a song thief, its must be really really irritating for Kelly. that's just an uncorroborated rumor. The only way we'll know whether it's true is if the person that posted the story about hearing Ryan Tedder say so in an interview, posts the interview. I honestly don't think it's true. I can't imagine Ryan saying such a slam on Beyonce and it not making any news except for a couple of message boards.

Halo isn't similar enough to Already Gone to have an impact on it's performance. It's quite easy for chart maniacs to point out even the smallest similarities (just for the sake of it in some cases), but the fact is, no one else is gonna give a shit and I don't understand why anyone here does either really.
Anyone listening to AIEW with an ear for hits can surely understand that this is a natural single. I mean, I think it's great that a variety of songs from this album are being appreciated, but there is absolutely no way that songs like 'Long Shot' and 'All I Ever Wanted' would perform better than this song, particularly at this stage in the albums promotion.
As for 'Cry', it's always been one of my favourite tracks from the album, but its radio appeal is definitely leaning towards HAC as I think somebody already mentioned... again another no brainer as far as I can see.

This will do fine! I really don't get the Halo comparisons except for the first 20 seconds... This is what I DON'T GET. You can still hear the music when she sings right? How do people say it only sounds like Halo in the first 20 seconds when the same instrumental repeats through the chorus throughout the song? I think it's because their voices, the melody and the lyrics are so different that the music similarities become less noticeable. The backing instrumentals, while very similar, work with their vocal performances in very different ways in Halo and Already Gone, so the similarities become less obvious. What I think this needs is a great music video. That will spark more interest in the song, get people to listen to all of it, and they'll have something in their head when they listen to it, and that will all matter so much more than sounding like Halo in the beginning. A truly great video will definitely make this song stand on its own and get people to listen to it more via youtube, MTV (do they still even play videos?), etc. IMO, it would have been very helpful for IDNHU to have a great video because I think it's a grower of a song, but that's neither here nor there.

I don't think this sounds much like Halo, Halo is alot more melodic. That said this song sounds really dated to me.

i predict a multi-format smash (AC, hot AC, pop, maybe some rhythmic spins? although, i really don't know if three, maybe four formats would be called a "multi-format smash. ), and multiple weeks at #1 on pop and AC. oh, and #1 on the hot 100. ;) Honey, I'm sorry, but you're being slightly delusional. Especially considering that they're waiting 6 more weeks for even the adds date.
