Not sure if there's a topic about this, but how will it do on this format?! I say top 30, but nothing more.

Its a cover of a Bobby BRown Classic so i think top 40 or 30 will be expected. Does she normally even have a Rhythmic add date?

Since Rhythmic is basically Urban then it prolly won't do that well. It should if it's a rhythmic song, though, and a good one if it is.

I agree.Β The fact that Britney Spears covered a rhythmic classic would make this song the laughing stock of the format. But Christina and others covering a rhythmic classic like Lady Marmalade was not a laughing stock. If it is a hot track, RHY will play it.Β Period.Β These days, being a "cover" means little to the common listener.

Nowadays rhythmic is an extension of the urban format not an extension of the pop format like it used to be.

Not to mention the artists featured on "LM" were much more rhythmic friendly. Also "My Prerogative" is still a current rhythmic staple while "Lady Marmalade" is too dated.

I think it just all depends on how people recieve it. And also if Jive puts some cash behind it ;) Im sure the pop leaning rhythmic stations that played Toxic will play this.

I'm actually feelin this, I may even add it to my Urban playlist but unfortunately that would spoil the rest of the bunch, comprende'? I can see this making at least the top 40 at Rhythmic, probably nothing more. Her funkiest song IMO was "I'm A Slave 4 U".

MD = Music Director PD = Program Director I was under the impression the MD is in charge of what songs are added to the playlist and which songs are played, and the PD is in charge of overseeing the different timeslots and programs, DJ's.

UPDATE:
+120 gain 20 stations number 98
MP is doing something very similiar to MATM. Hopefully it'll out-peak MATM, but this song doesn't fit the Rhythmic format.

20 stations added the song already? That's good for Britney!!! Her first week out and she's on almost 25% of the Rhythmic board. I think TOXIC got up to 40 stations at its peak on Rhythmic!
I think the song will do as good as TOXIC on Rhythmic! The audience is already familiar with the song since its a cover, and the song is H-O-T-T!

You have GOT to be kidding! Britney on UAC? ??? ??? Scary! lol. they probably played it because it was a remake of bobby brown who older music is played on Urban ac. They prolly played it to compare to 2 and see what callers thought or something.
