I'm not a big fan of this one (and her last 3 singles all topped my chart), but I hope it does well, so she can get a fifth single out there.

I love this song. I am so glad she is deciding to release it. I think it will do very good. It's one of her best songs on the whole cd.

I didn't like it when the album first dropped along with "Heartburn," but I love it now and I hope it's very successful.

Usher was on MuchMusic today talking about him and Alicia shooting the video for "My Boo", etc. so I'm not sure how that's going to affect the performance of her 4th single.
I doubt she will have a 5th single off her own album, with the 4 from her own plus "My Boo", which is almost a lock to be a #1 hit.

This is among my Top 4 songs on the album, along with the 3 other singles. So, J is really doing a GREAT job with singles this time.
If it weren't for "My Boo," I'd say this would be another big hit for Alicia and possibly her biggest Pop hit off the album. However, "MB" does kind of change things.... who knows if radio will play 2 "Alicia" singles at the same time. I hope both do well, I like "MB" a lot, but if I had to chose one or the other, I prefer "Karma."

what a bore. I think it will probably rise fast and fall fast. I dont think it has staying power or solidity of her other singles. I hope "my boo" and "karma" both cancel each other out. Alicia wins the award for the most over played female of 2004 and her duet partner Ushe wins the Male award.

I don't see how Alicia wins most played out female award...
She's had two big hits on Urban this year and I still feel like I barely even hear about her.
I mean, really she's only had If I Ain't Got You and now Diary is still currently a hit...

If "Diary" wasn't hurt by "If I Ain't Got You"'s slow fall, then I wouldn't worry about "My Boo" hurting "Karma."
I like the song, though there are better songs on the album. But it's about damn time that she releases an uptempo song (without it being a remix).

I really wanted her album to sell more, it's like people lost interest in her or something, Her singles are all slow maybe thats why?? ???

It's definitely a good choice but i wish they wouldn't give up on "Diary" yet.
However, I'm sure this will bring her in the Hot 100 Top 10 again.

I do hear people complain about the slow songs, but Alicia is doing well, especially considering all of the slow songs. I say that the album stops at around 3.5mil, which is the number of sales that nearly all of the big female entertainers have been getting as of late, so that's not bad at all. It seems as though it's getting harder for women to do big sales like 50 and Usher?

It seems as though it's getting harder for women to do big sales like 50 and Usher? Hmn... I can think of at least one woman over the past 2 years who broke the 3.5 million "barrier" (Shania Twain) and one man who didn't (Justin Timberlake (If he did, he probably didn't do it by much)) so I don't think her being a woman has anything to do with it. I'm talking about superstars, of course, not the Cheries and Nina Skys who can only dream of 3.5 m. I think Alicia's style is the laid-back, slow-burner approach. I have no idea what Alicia's sales are right now, but she should easily get a boost at next year's Grammy awards. The past couple of years have really proven that hype is a major driving force in sales. I can see why some people would dismiss Alicia Keys as boring. Personally, I thought "Diary" was extremely boring. Love "Karma" tho.

I like this :)
Alicia is blessed with the gift of being consistant. Especially for this album.
She's put out some pretty good singles and this is no different :)

I don't think she needs two singles out at the same time. She's doing well and "Karma" is bound to flop with "My Boo" overshadowing it. Yay for 7 ballads in a row! Here's to the 8th from the "Diary" re-release.

Will "Karma" still be released internationally?

Yes, "My Boo" is on the re-release, along with remixes and new tracks.
As far as I know, "Karma" will still be the third international single for Alicia.

So is "Karma" just being delayed until after "My Boo" is done on the charts or has it been pulled altogether as the fourth single?

"Karma" was cancelled in the US. I don't really follow what's going to radio outside of the US. I'd think you'd have that info being an Alicia fan.
