Kelly writes a lot of songs. Doesn't mean it's about to be released. I mean, listen to that Reba clip about her turning out songs.

Preview of the lights for the fall tour; looks like it's gonna be much heavier on the light show than past tours, which isn't really my thing but maybe will satisfy people who think Kelly doesn't deliver enough spectacle: ashleyarrison.wordpress.com/2009/09/29/541/I can see that working well on IICHY.

Getting back to Kelly, in the Pop thread, GuiltyBattlefield compiled a list of this decade's songs at #1 on CHR/Pop, # of weeks at #1 per song this decade. I attempted to compile a partial ranking of artists by weeks at #1 this decade to date on that format:

I said it in that thread and I'll say it in this one too--that run at the top is EXTREMELY impressive. Had no idea she had such a string of hits at the top for so long.

^^ What's even more impressive is that 'Hazel Eyes' was #2 for 8 weeks and therefore not included on this list. The only reason why it never hit #1 is because the "biggest song of the decade" 'We Belong Together' blocked it for all those 8 weeks, lol.....

And those 18 weeks are primarily from BA, right? It just goes to show how massive and popular she was then. It's pretty cool.

And those 18 weeks are primarily from BA, right? It just goes to show how massive and popular she was then. It's pretty cool. 6 weeks from 'Thankful' and 12 weeks from 'Breakaway'. Again, imagine if some of those 8 weeks at #2 that 'Hazel Eyes' sat actually hit #1, lol. I think the most impressive stat of that era is that Kelly Clarkson is the only artist to have the year-end #1 and #2 song of any year on the Pop/CHR format (2005 for 'Since U Been Gone' and 'Hazel Eyes'). I thought Michael Jackson did this before, but someone corrected me and said that Kelly is the only artist in history !

Kelly was THE SHIT during BA...I dont think any artist of the decade has come close to the popularity that Kelly had during that era. NO ONE.

I often think that Kelly, if she wanted to, could be a mega-star, even moreso than she was during Breakaway times. She's stated many times that it's not a goal of hers, but GOD I wish it was--this girl clearly has the chops and, has in the past, been HUGE. Still big today, but nowhere in that league. And agreed, I really don't think anyone else this decade has dominated like she did while on top. Similiar situation to Mariah in the 90's, and Madonna in the 80's, if you ask me.

Yeah Kelly was absolutely massive during that time period. I don't think anyone can compare. That album was truly the Thriller of our generation.

Or her fame is? ;) Too bad most of her fans are oversized pigs who eat cd cases of Breakaway, which is in fact most of the United Ranch of America, and that includes you. Oh, the whole Philippines booed her when Archie did an interview with the people there ;) and the poor Gayvid had to defend her.... Poor piggy, she can't sang but she can oink.

-MARIAH CAREY-, you really do try too hard.
Act your age or just go back to the Mariah thread.

Your just mad Kelly is beating Mariah in sales without having to have a sexy image. So sit down and learn to act a little more respectful of other people the fact is Kelly can sing circles around Mariah right now and for some reason you are jealous.

This is just trolling at this point. And if you're a Mariah fan you should know that Mariah is one of Kelly's musical heroes. A little mutual respect goes a long way.
