I wouldn't mind if she worked with David Kahne again. MD's production is hit or miss with me. If they worked on just a couple songs rather than an entire album, then I'd be fine with it.
New producers are a must though. I want a mix of old and new.

Doing promo on Idol, SNL and Oprah is great but thats only for one week, releasing in the fall you get a good few weeks of sales.

^^^ THIS.
I love AIEW. I think it's brilliant, but it could have sold WAY better had it been released in the fall.

Exactly, not only are those usually effective for one week, Kelly's Oprah performance was on Friday afternoon (impacting 2.5 days of sales of the first week of sales), SNL was late Saturday night (impacting 24 hours of first week of sales only). A fall release gives you up 8+ weeks of bolstered sales.

She should release first week of November, that way the first single can drop late summer, and second single can take off when the albu drops, ensuring that she has airplay (given both are hits) through Christmas, and maximizing sales. HOLLA.
But I think, if there is a new album in fall of 2010, the chances of a 4th single seem low. If IICHY or whatever it was dropped in January,it would presumably, barring a massive flop, be on the charts until minimum mid april, putting only about 4.5 months between 4th singles and debut single, not that much time for hype to build up. Just saying.

Bears QBs and 'Bachelorettes' on hand for Kelly Clarkson show Kelly Clarkson performed a five-song acoustic set at Hub 51 (51 W. Hubbard St.) on Monday in front of 101.9 FM contest winners and invited guests, including Jay Cutler. The Bears quarterback had dinner and watched as Clarkson sang locker room favorites "I Do Not Hook Up" and "My Life Would Suck Without You." Bears backup QB Caleb Hanie joined Cutler at the show, which means Cutler likely used the phrase "If I'm going down, you're going down with me" a few times Monday. (In all seriousness, Clarkson blew me away with her voice. She hits notes few other singers can. Like I told someone after the show, I'm surprised she doesn't have to take two days off after each performance. She'll be performing at the Rosemont Theatre on Tuesday if you want to see what I'm talking about.) "Bachelorette" stars Jillian Harris (season five) and Jen Shefft Waterman (season three) were also in attendance and met for the very first time. Harris was spotted at Tim McGraw's private show at Joe's Bar last week. leisureblogs.chicagotribune.com/about-last-night/2009/10/kelly-clarkson-performst-at-hub-51-jay-cutler-watches-on.html

Kelly didn't even go on Oprah until a week or two after the album had been out, and, if I remember correctly, there was some huge sporting event that aired over Oprah in several cities ( ).

AIEW up 1 notch to #93 this week on the BB Top 200. I think it sold around 5k (basically in or around the same as last week) :). Though i would prefer it got "some" kinda gains after AG doing it thing, at least its not falling. the total is around 734k (not great but definitely not bad). Hopefully this will chug along into the holiday season - when it really should start to post better, solid gains.

Focus...you are not the only one who loved the production of MD! I would love to see her work w/ David K. again....and the suggestion of Glen B......I think that would be something very special indeed.
Yes, yes she does......Sober was beautiful at the show....it was the Alanis/Leon song that broke me though.....talk about putting oneself completely into a song.....listening to her and watching her perform it made my heart break for her, you can feel that vulnerablitiy/pain in the words that she is singing......
The show was amazing and Kelly was fantastic....she is a very seasoned performer and just incredible. Not only that the, the whole show top to bottom was great, from the stage setup to the lighting to the band's sound/energy.
I have now seen Addicted tour and AIEW tour....two totally different venues, one an outdoor pavillon and a smaller intimate theatre.......ANYONE that questions the WAY she handles some of the career choices the way she does....in my opinion, will NEVER "get" her then.....it makes me think of Ready "drenched in what you want me to be".........Kelly absolutley hands down SHINES in this style of touring. Everyone that critizes her NEEDS to SEE her live first, then judge, because it is a totally unique and incredible experience. And talk of singles/sales/promo......one can get the feeling that if ALL that went away, Kelly would be ok w/ that, at least on the scale that is expected on the level she is on at the moment. And I know that Kelly has been vocal about that anyway, but one never truly knows if that is just lip service, ya know what I mean? ANY smal doubt I may have had about that has vanished forever.... I am SO intrigued to see what happens when her contract w/ RCA expires.....I can see her being like a John Mellencamp....

I hope we still get a 4th single. Since the release of the album seems so close. I think it would be be stupid not to release it right in January will be done by March or April.

I kinda like the fact that the new album may not have performed like people thought it would- because we get another Kelly album- not years inbetween albums like she would if it was a huge success- so this is great news to me- she can release an album every year and I would be happy. I've already played AIEW to death.

Yeah, given that one of the things holding back this era (IMHO) is how long Kelly had been off the radio, no reason not to release at least one more single to keep her on the air through the spring. If they release IICHY it might also test the waters if Kelly is recording more in that style for the next record.

So, WHY exactly is Kelly pulling a Mariah and releasing a new album within a year of her last one?

March 2009=>November 2010 is a year and a half. About the same as the time between Thankful (April 13, 2003) & Breakaway (November 30, 2004). Which did not seem to hurt Breakaway's success.
If she's able to stick to that timeline, it should be perfect.

I found this comment on a Youtube video comparing the Ready demo to the album version:
"this song was meant to go on My December album but she cut it, and then still wanted it on the new one but they said she needed to change it cause it was depressing lol"
Is this true? I always thought the album version sounded unfittingly happy for the lyrics and what Kelly has described as a sad song. I love the demo, but I also love the contrast between the sound and the lyrics of the album version as well. I thought that was an interesting choice that worked really well.

Ready was written after My December, I think. The way Kelly has been talking about the song lately I think it was written after MD, but it's about the label and the compromises she had to make to get MD released.

I remember it first being mentioned by Aben when he did a chat on the KCE back during the summer of 07, so it had to have been written sometime during that whole mess.

Nevermind, found the mention of a new album. I don't see how that could possibly be considered too soon? It would be more than a year and a half if she releases in the fall of 2010. Is the new thing to wait 2-3 yrs between albums? Plus, we all know if she is mentioning fall 2010 that it will be spring 2011 at the earliest!

By the way, does anyone know why any remixes of her singles from this era have been posted for download on iTunes or anything? Every single during the "Breakaway" era had like 8 each on iTunes and I know "Never Again" has a few up, why not My Life, Hook up, or Gone? Hmm.
