I HATE " Never Again"Clive Davis, it he almost ruined her career- people stayed away from her album in droves because of that song the negative crap HE started long before the album or Never again were even released. JMO of course. "Never Again" = one of my favorite singles from Kelly. I said it then and I still feel that way.

Like "Breakaway", "All I Ever Wanted" is more "pop" than Kelly's third album, "My December", which is a bit more on the Alternative side. But if you ask me, "My December" stands as her best work, artistically.
But even "Breakaway" has its out-of-the-box gems, like "Addicted" and "Hear Me".
If you are a straight pop music fan, "My December" might not be your cup of tea, although it has plenty of pop stuff, such as "How I Feel" and "Yeah" (which is almost R&B).
The only "hit" off "My December" was the first track, "Never Again", but there are many other good to great songs: "One Minute", which should have been the first single; "Sober", on which her voice soars; "Hole", which matches any song by a female rocker; the breezy "Be Still", followed by what I think is Kelly's autobiography, "Maybe," which in a perfect world, would have been a huge hit, but which packs too big of an emotional punch for the average radio listener.
The last main track on the album is called "Irvine", an emotional throwdown that Kelly wrote during a concert tour in Irvine, California, when she was so overworked that she was hit by a wave of depression. After that song, there's about a two-minute gap, followed by the bonus track, "Chivas", a fun song even if its a boy-basher. She wrote it on a napkin in a bar.

I don't know if anyone remembers, but I was the one wondering how this album was. Well I finallly bought it, the Deluxe Edition, and have listened to it countless times the past few days. I LOVE this album and will definitely be looking into her previous two. Aside from her first two singles, which I don't care for at all, this album is perfection. The production is amazing. She sings like there's no tomorrow. I just love this album. My favorites have to be: Already Gone of course, this is why I bought the album. All I Ever Wanted is my next favorite. It's a fun song to sing along to and I like how the verses run into the chorus, different. I Want You is a fun, different sounding song. I like the lyrics and sound of Impossible. Long Shot, Ready, and Don't Let Me Stop You are my other favorites. And it was so worth the 3 extra dollars for the 2 bonus songs. They are 2 of my favorites on the entire album. I hope there's a next single from this album and I REALLY hope it's "All I Ever Wanted". Can someone compare this album to her previous two for me please? Thanks! What a great read! I love the album too. Comparing the albums is hard because her first 3 albums are so different from each other. I'd say that "All I Ever Wanted" was a mix of "My December" and "Breakaway". "Thankful" her first album had some Pop, a few songs with an R&B feel, and a couple of songs with a Pop/country feel. "Breakaway" Pop rock and a couple of gorgeous ballads. "My December" Rock/pop, with a couple of gorgeous ballads and then there's "All I Ever Wanted" which is a mixture of all of them. I'd recommend you buy them all.

AG jumped 11% in sales this week to 47000+ and rebounds back to #25, with it streaming also rising to #8 and airplay at #11 on Hot 100 Airplay...im gonna guess that it leaps to #15-#17 this week...i hope it makes it to #15 :)

Aww...CIHAK is my number 5 top Kelly song... :'(
Not to rehash MD and what could have been....someone mentioned How I Feel...that would have been great on pop radio I think.....and someone mentioned Don't Waste Time, I thought that song had potential as well, it is catchy...kind of 80's throwback.....that video though, definitely not the best...COULD have been though I think.....Never Again is just a notch up from the BA sound though, so I can see why they went that route.....
I still say something smells funny about why MD didn't do well..... As Focus said.....
Yeah. I still say if NA was a "flop" why did it sell such a good amount of downloads?
I am listening to MD right now, and I forgot how much I love Yeah...that song is sexy as hell IMO...

NA sold so well because it was the first single after the massive BA. There was so much hype / demand for new KC music, and she had amassed quite a large fanbase (casual + hardcore). First singles usually sell better anyway because they have the support from the hardcore fanbase to begin with (That's really the reason MLWSWY was able to make it to #1 on first week downloads alone).
I personally loved NA and most of MD, although it is obvious that the album was never intended for the mainstream/casual fan, which she successfully alienated with the release of MD.

Maybe RCA will push a little to help the airplay for a few more weeks. I don't know what Kelly's doing this week, if she's taking downtime with her family or if she's in the studio, but this would be a really good time to do one more promo appearance for Already Gone before the AMAs, which I assume will be the last one before she moves on to the next single (assuming there is a next single).

Well, no. She will perform at the Grammys (no official confirmation yet). However, the song will be out of the top 100 on Billboard Hot 100.

It's been hit and miss. The Lubbock, Texas show reportedly sold 5,000+ tickets and sold at least as well as Jay-Z, who had sold about 3,000 tickets before he cancelled his show there. Reviewers at some of the other shows have reported half-empty houses, while some of the fan/photo reports show some shows to be pretty packed. The Hammerstein show in NY sold out in minutes, but NY is a huge market, she only scheduled one show in NY and the Hammerstein only holds around 2,400 people. I have to think she left a lot of money on the table not doing a second date in NY or a bigger venue.
I believe I've seen anecdotal reports on other sites that the tour dates in Europe and Australia, etc. are selling well and some may have sold out. And some of those are big venues.
On the summer tour, the Minnesota show she cancelled had reportedly sold around 8,000 tickets. The one box score we have for the summer is Allentown, and the ticket sales there were awful (you can never tell; I can't believe Tim McGraw sold that poorly):
Chicago & Earth, Wind & Fire Great Allentown Fair Allentown, Pa. Sept. 2, 2009 $326,295 6,395 / 10,537 1 / 0 $55, $45 Great Allentown Fair

I voted for her, too. I think the legitimate options are Kelly, Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas, Coldplay, Eminem, Justin Timberlake and Kanye West. Though, personally, I would pit it between Kelly and Beyonce, and I can certainly see the argument for Beyonce--I just prefer Kelly. :)
