It's shaping up to look like Clive has won again and DLMSY will be the next single. Now obviously you've read something somewhere...why does it "look like Clive has won again and DLMSY will be the next single"? It seems a bit silly just to say it and not cite your source. Shooter is a very reliable source, and he has proven it over and over again. Revealing where he gets *his* information could get someone into trouble. Honestly, "Don't Let Me Stop You" is my favorite song on the CD... Was Kelly wanting "If I Can't Have You"?

Kelly said earlier in the year that she was pushing for IICHY as a single. She's never said anything about DLMSY one way or the other.

I like DLMSY a lot. Probably my fav from the cd next to Cry. Of course, I liked IDNHU and didn't like MLWSWY and AG so I'm not a good barometer of potential Kelly hits.

I don't think people are over the Pop/rock from Kelly. IDNHU just wasn't that good and the message was not popular.

I really do NOT like 'Stop You'- it's definitely a skipper for me Just listen to the HQ audio from the live NYC show, where in the intro for 'Can't Have You', the crowd is so into the song, clapping like crazy at the beginning and throughout the song, I swear I thought I was listening to Depeche Mode's '101' album. That song has so much energy and like David Hingis said is so da*n fresh !

For the first half of it the melody is kind of boring for me but the power of Kelly's voice in the last half makes the song for me. If I had a choice I'd pick IICHY over it.

I've expressed my dislike towards DLMSY on several occasions. I think it tries too hard to be catchy and BTHE-esque, but instead comes across as awkward and loud. The one thing I do like about it is the verses, I love the way her voice sounds.
I want to see them go with IICHY because it's different and modern, but still keeps elements of pop/rock Kelly. It would be a risky single choice for sure, but they don't have anything to lose at this point. Someone pointed out before that it could be used to "test the waters" and see how radio reacts to its techno/rock sound, should Kelly decide to go in that direction for Album 5.
If DLMSY is indeed the 4th single, Kelly shouldn't have stopped performing it on tour. I know she said it's hard to sing, but if she knew the label was considering it, she should have kept it in for the song's sake. Should it be a hit in the future, she'll be singing it for the rest of her career. She'll have to deal with singing it and make adjustments so it's easier on her.

I hope either IICHY or DLMSY or singles next...if one of those is a hit then RCA should take a risk and release IWY (to Pop) and Cry (to AC) then close out the era with Long Shot, but that is just my opinion.

^ 'Long Shot' would flop IMO. 'I Want You' could be a moderate hit. It's different, but not too different. Cute song. 'Save You' would probably do well; It's very very radio friendly IMO. 'If I Can't Have You' and 'Don't Let Me Stop You', once again, are not very radio friendly.

I pray to God that Save You isn't released...I believe Long Shot would be a hit, but that's just my opinion... :)

Is it me or has Kelly definitely lost weight lately? Not that it matters, because it doesn't, but it just seems that way, to me.

That song has so much energy and like David Hingis said is so da*n fresh ! Neally, is there a place I can get that audio? I'm still holding off on listening to anything until my show, but from what I've heard, this is one of her best shows (yes?) and I'd love some great audio of a show to listen to after I've seen mine. Anyway, I have always like the recording of DLMSY, and was into it as a single choice until: a, IDNHU underperformed, and b: I heard her do it live. It is one of the very, very few songs of hers that I just think hasn't translated into a strong live performance. It relies too much on her vocal layering, and her backup singers just don't cut it. If it is a single, she's going to have to really work with Jason on a way to work around that issue. IICHY had to grow on me (plus hearing it live changed things, as with WA, for me), and while I'm not convinced it would be a huge smash, I think it would show a different side to Kelly--and I think that's necessary. If not IICHY, I've always like AIEW, as well. It's not a sure-fire hit either, but again, it's a little different sounding I think than her usual pop-rock. Of course, my favorite pick would be TDWFA.

We've had too many unsourced rumors, so I am not gonna believe anything until we se a source. But I would be disappointed if DLMSY is the next single, and very upset if it's the last one. I was really looking forward to promo and a video for IICHY, AIEW, and/or I Want You. And I could go for Ready, and Cry would get to show off Kelly's pipes. This song just doesn't work live, and while it might be a hit, given where radio is today I could easily see it having a chart run like Never Again or Low.
Don't get me wrong, DLMSY is a pretty good song - I love the vocal layering and the cascading guitars & drums into the chorus. But it wore on me a lot faster than most of the other stuff on the album, and it's definitely in the bottom half of the album in quality. It would be just such an uninspired choice for a single, the kind of choice you would only make if you (1) don't listen to the radio to hear what's popular right now, (2) haven't heard Kelly perform any of the songs on this album, and (3) are obsessed with recapturing the Breakaway sound and/or with releasing singles written by professional songwriters instead of by performers like Kelly, Aranda, Tedder or Katy.

I think they may be going for a WUIV type-success story with DLMSY, the only logical reasoning I can see behind it being chosen over IICHY.

IDNHU just wasn't that good and the message was not popular. ^That's your opinion. I just think it was too similar to MLWSWY, or at least in the same vein. Radio wasn't that interested. Personally, I liked IDNHU better. The Katy Perry demos are my faves on this album. This one and "Long Shot". I think DLMSY is a good single choice by the way.

If she's really releasing an album in the fall of 2010, what are the chances of her having a 5th single--no matter how the 4th single does? It seems like they would want to stop promoting this album (aside from touring) and give Kelly a radio break. Unless they just want to keep everything going a la Gaga, but Kelly doesn't have that sort of dominance over pop music this year to pull that off. Unless, of course, this backfires on Gaga due to overexposure, and if Kelly was coming fresh off a successful radio album, maybe people would be quicker to buy the next one so soon? Dunno.

I think Kelly's been against DLMSY being the next single because it's the "safe" choice and she likes to be adventurous. She even dropped it from her live set last I heard.
BTW, does anyone know where I can find the original, more R&B-edged, demo?
