I have no idea about success abroad, Monica's only done well in one overseas market, and that's Japan (where apparently she's rather big even still).
The video has received a strong 144 plays on BET, but zero plays on MTV, MTV2, and VH1. "So Gone" ultimately (keep in mind this includes plays for several months more than "USKB") 347 BET plays and ZERO elsewhere (!!). I feel like those numbers are wrong but that's what's listed... wait, who knows anymore. It has 14 MTV2 plays for "Knock Knock" and zero elsewhere- I know that's wrong. Mediabase has Downes Syndrome sometimes.
Anyway, yeah. The video's gotten the kind of support at BET all along that only a top 10 or top 5 song would get normally, and because it's also a nice video and Monica looks great, that may have played a big role in the song's slow-growth success. It's impossible at this point to tell what we will say about this song, looking back at it a year from now, because it's been incredibly erratic. But no one will say it was a flop.

I didn't know it made TRL but I know it got more than 100 spins, so Mediabase has lost its mind. The Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Awards noms are out, and Monica is up for best female as previously announced. Don't forget hiphop/rap artists are also eligible, so... well basically that means she just beat out Missy, too. I'm sure "So Gone" would have had at least one, maybe 2 or 3, nominations if it hadn't been cut in half by the deadlines. That really sucks when that happens.

:o :o :o
This is up to 5th most increased, with a huge +452. That takes it just a breath away from #9, and Urban audience of 24.330. TOTAL audience is 31.777; last week it was only 23.848 and the week before 23.501. Looked like this song was done but it's had a huge jump; who knows what's gonna happen from here. Should be interesting to see how it did at Rhythmic.

I love it when a good song flies slowly under the radar and beomces a hit. That big audience gain should finally give it the boost it needs on the Billboard R&B chart.

I'd say it's definitely a dark horse for hitting #1.

Really what it needs is the NYC stations to play it: WWPR has it in very low rotation in WQHT is not playing it. This was "KK"'s problem too.

KK = Knock Knock, which peaked at #13 (or 14) on Urban, #24 Billboard R&B, and #75 Hot 100. "U Should've Known Better" has already beat all of those peaks, for those of you who may just now be following this song, it's gotten to #10 Urban (currently with a fat bullet), #20 Billboard R&B, and #57 Hot 100-- audience gains were heavy this week, it should be up several spots on the Billboard charts.
It's true, New York is not supporting Monica too much. HOWEVER-- WWPR has it up to 16 from 5 spins, which suggests they may finally be catching on. They're part of the audience gains. It's on 67 of 70 stations.
We'll know tomorrow how it did over the past week when it went for Rhythmic adds.
As for Pop, today it got it's very first spin, I'm not sure which station. Strangely it has received 12 ALTERNATIVE spins to date, two this week, from Providence.
It really is starting to look like a dark horse, I still won't dream of #1, but for top 10 at least. Peace out to all the haters who a few months ago were like "monica's washed up, 'so gone' was a fluke, radio won't play her anymore, blahblahblah" they were so wrong.

I wonder how her album is doing! Is it still on the charts? I also realized that Urban loves them some Monica! I like how they give her songs at least a chance. "Knock Knock" was trash, but it reached, like, Top 15 on the chart!!!
That's what Pop does to Britney. They'll give her AT LEAST a Top 40 hit, but its on the public to make the song a big hit!
Anyway back to Monica, her label should release "Go To Bed Mad" with Tyrese as the next single. It would be a sweet duet and could bring Tyrese back into the spotlight.

The bullet's holding so far, and it passed Lil Flip and moved up to #9 at Urban.
As for the album, last week it was well into the top 50 at R&B, it could re-enter the Billboard 200 any week if the sales are still going up. Before this single it wasn't even in top 100 R&B. I don't know where it will be on the Billboard charts tomorrow, the single could be between 19 and 15 on R&B and close to top 50 on the Hot 100.
R&R charts haven't updated yet so still waiting to see how those are looking. It should be new & active, or actually debut in the top 50 at Rhythmic; it's credited with 366 spins for this week; but then last week it had 330 and didn't make the chart.
TOTAL MEDIABASE: 32.252 million. ---- LATEST R&R Charts: Bullet to #11 from #13 at Urban Bullet steady at #22 Urban AC Third most added at Rhythmic, 24 adds; didn't enter the chart but should next week

WOooo! Congrats to Monica on her 9th top 50 on the Hot 100!
Also on the R&B Chart, she bulleted up to #15 from #20!
GREAT for her! Tomorrow we'll know where she is on the album charts.
In terms of outranking her other singles, this song has easily passed "Knock Knock", "All Eyez On Me", "Just Another Girl", and "Street Symphony" but it's a scarrily steep uphill climb from here. The rest of her singles have all peaked between #3 and #1 on R&B, and at least #10 on the Hot 100. So the titles to match are #3 at R&B (Why I Love You So Much/Ain't Nobody) and #10 Hot 100 ("So Gone"; WILYSM/AN peaked at #9).
Reaching #10 Hot 100 will be impossible without really taking off at Rhythmic and Urban AC while still maintaining huge Urban spins; however #3 at R&B is possible on the current track. ____
as for Mediabase, the bullet has gotten to the biggest it's ever been, +513! Fourth most increased; 25.555 audience.
It's also picked back up some at Urban AC, and it's Rhythmic bullet continues to hover around +60 to +80, which isn't too bad. TOTAL MEDIABASE AUDIENCE 33.78

The album is Number 183. It made the chart. :o :o I feel bad that I couldn't get myself to like the song again. It barely made a blip on my chart this year. If it hadn't been leaked before "After The Storm" came out, I wouldn't have overplayed it, and it would've been a #1 smash on my Top 60.

It definitely does effect a lot of ppl on this site I think; I mean the song leaked not only before "After the storm" but before "All eyez on me". Isn't it interesting that a song that was made this many years ago can do this well? EvanJ, thank you for the heads up on the album chart. Hopefully Tony can say how many albums it sold. Man this single really really boosted sales.

+507 at Urban, THIRD most increased, still bulleted to 9 from 12. If this holds up over the weekend, it will be a greatest gainer for next week's R&R.
It's also more than +100 at Rhythmic and +42 at Urban AC (one of the top gainers). Total Mediabase is now 35.41million, which puts it up more than 10 million since last Friday (meaning it'd be one of the greatest gainers on the Hot 100 as well).
Part of why the bullet is so big (this goes for all the big bullets at Urban right now) is because last week they were really small; Monica was actually down to -70 at this point. So her gain above her previous peak is actually more like +430; still huge. But the bullet will probably go down to a more normal size over the weekend, as the current gains are no longer compared to the negative bullet of last week. By Wednesday we should have an idea of whether or not the song is peaking yet. The bullet is so large now that I think it may not be.

3rd most increased Urban 9th most increased Urban A/C 19th most increased Rhythmic it's holding up well over the weekend, has passed Petey deleted to become #8 at Urban, total spin gains across the board are almost 700 with audience gain over 9 million _________ ends up with about a +8million bullet for the Hot 100, nice.

At Urban: Maintains a strong +368 bullet, although it is starting to decrease; also holds at #7 and is gaining on #6 "Jesus Walks". Despite smaller bullet, it's still 3rd most increased (the other bullets are shrinking as well). Audience is up some to 30.778M.
At Urban A/C: Finally breaks into the top 20, up four spots from #24. Very strong +134 to just over 3M audience. SECOND most increased!
At Rhythmic: Easily her biggest bullet yet there, very good +252 from just 42 stations for 18th most increased.
OVERALL: 40.52M audience on Mediabase, +8.713M from last Tuesday morning.

Where do U see this peaking on the hot 100? With gains at Urban AC and Rhythmic, this should easily slide into the Top 40. Entering the top 30 could be possible if the gains at Rhythmic pick up quickly before the song starts to fall on Urban. With that in mind, this should peak around the 30s. Top 20 isn't completely out of the question. But it doesn't seem likely. Although I hope I am wrong about that.

Where do U see this peaking on the hot 100? With even a +5million gain, maybe less, it will be top 40 next week. This song has had a very interesting chart run, and it's impossible to say how it will unfold in the next few weeks. Top 40 is a lock without a sudden turn around; it's highly unlikely to fall fast at Urban even if it doesn't gain a whole lot more (which it might), so the key is making top 10 at Urban A/C and/or top 20 Rhythmic. That would give it enough audience to maybe reach top 20. What's more sure is that it should make top 10 R&B; whether it will make #10 or #4 or #3 or #2 or #1, remains to be seen. Just playing this one by ear. __________ overnight, this moved into #1 greatest gainer at Urban A/C, and increased it's gains at Rhythmic ar Urban, staying in the top 20 and top 3 gainers respectively. Week to week audience gain is still just over 10 million.

this grabbed #8 urban, #22 urban a/c, and #47 rhythmic for the latest R&R charts. it's up to #7 urban, #20 urban a/c, and #44 rhythmic as of now.
i wish mediabase did a compiled chart; i don't know where it's going to stand on the hot 100, but based off kikimet's good numbers, probably the high 40s, like between 40 and 45. as for R&B, between 10 and 13. so tomorrow we might see Monica's latest top 10 hit.
