This is the lead single for D12's upcoming album, D12World.Β The album is released on 4/27/04.Β Not sure when this goes to radio.Β I've not heard it, but the promo materials announcing the album are in.Β They were choosing between this song and one called "40 oz." for the single.

I come home late from school on Wednesday nights, and it figures that this was the song featured on z103's "Pump It or Dump It" tonight.
I usually hear the stuff way before they play it, but that wasn't the case with this song. Darn, I would have liked to hear it.
It got Pumped by 99%
So I'm sure I will be hearing it sometime soon anyway
If a radio station has a hold of it, I'm sure it will be online by the end of the week

I heard the song. It was kind of weird. Not really hip-hop but not really pop. I dont know how to describe it. I dont if I like it either

I guess "Purple Hills" could be described as "not really hip hop and not really pop", too.

This has a similar catchiness factor to it like "Purple Pills (Hills)." But in this song Eminem puts in a little more vocal ability in the chorus. The beat is catchy and playful sounding.

A part of me wonders why this wasn't released closer to (or during) summer, like Devils Night was. Purple Hills was a huge summer track that year.
Yet I still haven't heard this song, so.
It's probably because Eminem is planning to release his new album around September, so he didn't want the two albums released so close together.

Ugh. I've listened this several times now just to make sure of this. I'm so disapointed in Shady Records' recent material. "Got Some Teeth" by Obie Trice was one big joke. The music was corny and the song was just plain stupid. I was expecting something great from D12. "Purple Hills" and "Fight Music" were great...
Now that I've listened to the song a few times, what do I get? Another joke song. This one is worst than "Got Some Teeth" even. The music EXTRA corny and the "rapping" is just the group members arguing about who's the center of attention of the band. This isn't hip-hop. Eminem will start to lose credibility and go the way of Ja-Rule if he continues like this. .. and yes, people will notice this song because of Eminem. He's doing about 65% of the rapping and the chorus on his own.Β That's another thing, the chorus is terrible. Eminem shouldn't sing. Sure, it worked on songs like "Hailie's Song" and "Kim", but in this song... nah. Based on my first few listens, I give this song a big fat F... nah a D+.
There are some funny lyrics though.. like "In the SUPERMAN video, I was in the back. In the LOSE YOURSELF video, I was in the back" LOL!
Who knows? This song might grow on me, but so far, it's just a ridiculous mess of a "song" that cannot be taken seriously.

The song isn't that good. It's almost a parody of current rap music, except I think D12 might've actually wanted it to be taken seriously.

I finally snagged a copy of the radio promo to listen to this. I wasn't fond of anything from their last album so I wasn't really in a hurry to hear this.
It's okay. Typical Eminem track with Without Me/Slim Shady/My Name Is humor.

It's insanely catchy and I can see it being a huge guilty pleasure.
Flow 93.5 has added it into their rotation, as well as z103.5Β
I heard it on both stations earlier this afternoon
Eminem is involved, so that means huge multi-format appeal, and a big hit. It should easily go Top 10 if not Top 5 on the Hot 100

I saw the last half of the video on BET this afternoon, and it's funny, as expected. Bizarre is the funniest, I just look at him and bust out a grin and chuckle, lol.
