Are they just giving out awards to people who show up? I mean Alyson Hannigan over Tina Fey (wtf), Mariah Carey over Beyonce, The Big Bang Theory over The Office, Carrie over Taylor? lol I kind of understand Carrie's win though; she was nominated once and Taylor was nominated what, three times so they had to give Carrie something for appearing. Now watch Taylor win for Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Pop Artist. I wish they literally just gave the award to who received the most votes.

LOL, I'm sitting here trying to figure out how Carrie's fans were able to take down the force that is Taylor Swift. With her album sales like double at the moment, I'm not sure how that's possible but I guess swift fans are voting with their wallets. Congratulations if for nothing more then doing what no one was able to do with the CMA's and AMA's. WOW! I guess Carrie will win the ACM's her fans don't play with the fan voted awards.

BTW Did anyone else notice the woman mocking Mariah following her acceptance speech? I love Mariah, but I LMAO. Also, I can't believe Carrie almost fell running up to get her award! I loved that she acknowledged it though (own the moment Carrie)!

The surprise is because of the year that Taylor Swift is having. I'm looking at BB after Christmas and it is Taylor Swift who's still in the top 5 and I don't see Carrie in the top 10 so that's the surprise. Taylor's star has risen a bunch since last year, don't act as if you don't know that. I would have been surprised no matter who would have one unless it was Swift.

Mariah was WTF moment as well considering she was up against 10 time grammy nominee Beyonce. Still Taylor's was an even bigger shock, she's selling so well right now.

Anyway, not a problem just a silly fan voted award but still shocked.

Just recently Carrie had a #1 and #3 video on GAC's year end countdown, Taylor wasn't in the top 5. I think your kind of undermining Carrie's fanbase.

I wasn't trying to be negative. Taylor's been huge on pop radio this year even more so than country radio. There's nothing to be defensive about that. Taylor's earned her success and awards. There's no reason to be negative because she didn't win just one.

For me personally, it's not just one award but several that seem fishy to me (and not even in regard to personal taste, but in regard to popularity in general). I think (in regard to the Taylor vs Carrie spectacle) the award for Favorite Female Artist will be telling. If Carrie's fans were able to give her a win for Favorite Country Female Artist they should be able to do the same for the Favorite Female Artist. I don't know if this has anything to do with this, but the polls for this show opened around the time Taylor was beating out Carrie for all the Country awards (AMAs, CMAs, etc...) Carrie has a massive "voting" fan base coming from Idol, and some of those fans might have became, lets say, heated seeing Taylor win. You can't deny the power of an angry fanbase! There is no doubt that Taylor also has a huge fan base, however Taylor's fans clearly weren't as motivated as Carrie's giving Taylor is/has been on a hot winning streak. That's the only explanation I can think of...BTW, with Carrie winning over Taylor once, I don't see why she can't do it twice? I honestly didn't expect this, but hey 2010 is shaping to be another stellar year for Carrie!

Based on hype, Yonka deserved it, but on quality? Taylor's video had a storyline and was pretty cool. Yonka's looked like low-budget mess.

Yeah, but I don't think that particular award deals with the quality of the video. I guess Video Of The Year can be interpreted more than one way but if it's based on quality, they're failing yearly.
