Lloyd has changed management once in his career. His first manager was Joyce Irby. She managed the teen R&B group that he was with called N-Toon. She was also his manager for the "Southside" album.

Henry "Noonie" Lee is Lloyd's current manager who has been with Lloyd since the "Street Love" album.

Ah, ok.

I agree with B. about the pushback being the big problem for this. Delays/pushbacks are almost never a good thing because it just confuses people about when it's coming out and can cause a loss in interest especially if the artist isn't fully solidified and is still finding their footing in the industry.

The highest debut on the albums chart is R&B singer Lloyd at No. 10 with "King of Hearts," as it moves 26,000 in its opening week. It's his third top 10 set and it follows 2008's "Lessons in Love," which debuted and peaked at No. 7 off a 51,000 launch. Lloyd's new album is the lone debut within the top 40 of the Billboard 200. (Clearly, the week after the Independence Day holiday wasn't a favored one for releasing big new albums.)

Miguel and Lloyd came head to head (no pun intended) at Z107.9′s Summer Jam in Cleveland over the weekend. The “Sure Thing” singer ignited blogs when he commented about Lloyd’s new haircut. “Imitation is the Highest form of Flattery. Shout to LLoyd,” he wrote after seeing Young Goldie’s newly shaved head. But Lloyd didn’t let him off easy when they met up backstage.

Miguel burst into the dressing room singing “The Wayans Bros.” theme song (“We’re brothers, we’re happy and we’re singing and we’re colored”). Lloyd wasn’t having it and immediately asked Miguel why he sent out his controversial tweet.

“Why would you even say that though?” asked Lloyd.

Miguel replied, “Yo, it shouldn’t have been said, as honest as I may have been. If it was like me and you having a conversation and I said it to you, it would have been different. The fact that I said it on Twitter was fu**ed up and I apologize for that.”

Lloyd explained why he was so upset. “But the fact is that I was not trying to imitate you,” he continued. “I just felt like it was disrespectful. On some real s**t, it was cheap and I felt like it was distasteful. The idea behind it wasn’t to mock you or imitate you, it was just to shave my [hair] so I could get a tattoo. For you to say that and bring all that kind of energy to me… It’s album release week so why am I answering questions about Miguel when I should be talking about my album that I worked two years for?

After a two year hiatus, Lloyd returns with his fourth studio album, "King of Hearts" (July 5). After parting ways with The Inc., Lloyd locked himself away in the studio with Polow the Don to craft a work that would be played years after and also to please the ladies "in the sheets and the streets."

Lloyd took the time to sit down with Billboard.com's The Juice to share the story behind "King of Hearts," his single, "Dedication to My Ex (Miss That)" and collaborating with Chris Brown and Trey Songz.

He took way too long to drop the album. That was the problem with the album sales. His popularity was high in the beginning of the year.

It's simple sales. If you don't deliver when the demand is high, your product will suffer. Especially if your product isn't an Usher, Chris Brown or even Trey Songz. Hopefully "Be The One" blows up like it should.

Exactly. If they had dropped the album back in December like Interscope wanted to originally, I think it would've fared a lot better.

^ In reality...those are two different albums with the same name. That "King of Hearts" album that you're talking about didn't have the great songs that are on the album that is in stores now.

Do you buy albums that have just one or two great songs?

The only way an album is going to sell in this current music market is if the overall album has great songs.

Music fans are very savvy. They can preview the album and decide if the album is worth their money. The "King of Hearts" album is an album where the consumer don't feel like they got cheated out of their money.

But sales aren't great so I don't think it really matters in this case. People just don't seem interested despite two Top 10 Urban hits.

I feel it's because he wasn't present. No performances, not even a ustream chat. Polow was promoting this album more then Lloyd was.

Lloyd was supposed to do a weekly video blog until his album release. He only did four video blogs. If he did the video blogs on a weekly basis then it would have been eight blogs.

I don't understand why artists waste their time going on 106. I supposed anything helps, but that's like the bottom of the barrel-type promo.

But, Ciara also had the issue with pushbacks (and no follow-up singles). Maybe people aren't checking for Lloyd like that, but it definitely worked for Trey.

These type of artists seem to need to reach out directly to their audience with a reality show/live chats/small arena tours/etc. and of course, label support.
