WWFM #2 on z100s 9@9 tonight! Highest it's been! Also, Adam just tweeted: Hey friends! I will be performing and hanging w the ladies of ABC's The View Thursday the 10th! and Also look for me on Barbara Walters' Ten Most Fascinating People of 09 the night before also on ABC :) 4 minutes ago from Echofon Wow...#2! That countdown is so inconsistent. Wednesday night he fell off and two days later he is almost at the top spot lol. The View interview should be interesting as I'm sure the ABC controversy will come up. I think Barbara Walters will be on his side though.

Yeah the Z100 countdown is extremely erratic. If votes mattered it would be more consistent.

Anyway, nice day for spins!

Yeah the Z100 countdown is extremely erratic. If votes mattered it would be more consistent. their countdown it pretty valid. i am following the CHR charts and z100's countdown for a few years now ... it's very rare a song that makes NY's countdown to miss the top 20 on CHR. the fact that Adam is so high on the chart is awesome and nothing can take it away from him. i am expecting the song to top their countdown soon. it's so Pink and so what their listeners like. ok, enough said. :)

If he can pass Chris Brown, Chamillionaire, New Boyz, and Leighton Meester by Sunday night, he can enter the Top 50 in time to debut. The former two are now currently trending negative triple-digits, New Boyz have slowed down quite a bit this week, and Leighton has only posted a daily double-digit gain once this week (Wednesday, +11). He'll probably have to keep posting bigger and bigger daily gains throughout the weekend to do it, though.
If Mediabase for whatever reason decides not to purge Jordin, it'll make this a moot point since Pitbull and John Mayer are pretty much guaranteed to enter with Pitbull's previous song and likely also BEP (finally) going recurrent.

That is false. When Elliott released Fight For Love, the hometown station only added it and played it a few times (usually overnight) so not all Idols receive massive amounts of airplay on their hometown station. Don't expect anything when it comes to hometown stations giving you spins. I was talking about Elliott's One Word and Wait For You singles. I didn't follow Fight For Love because I didn't like that song much. That depends. This morning he has less spins than yesterday or two days ago the same time because of the weekend playlist, and today and tomorrow, he can't get a similar increase unless OHP plays WWFM again, so WWFM might get meh update tonight and enter the top 50 only late next week.

Ummm...the chart weeks run Monday-Sunday. Entering "late next week" would entail not entering until next weekend (12th-13th). He'll be Top 50 well before that.

And btw, can there be test spins on a Saturday? 'Cause WXKS in Boston spinned it for the first time today.

Yeah the Z100 countdown is extremely erratic. If votes mattered it would be more consistent. isn't the countdown based on votes? voting is what makes it erratic. one day you can have a lot more votes for one song than another day. whataya want from me is being played more on z100. and he was last added as the featured guest for jingle ball

From what I can tell it's just random based on their playlist. The 9@9 used to be a lot more believable.

Bka bla bla Z100 countdown is the one to check if you wanna find the future hits on the format. End of the story.

The 9@9 used to be a lot more believable. i dont think so, although it's hard to prove my side or yours because it's based on voting. but i do remember mo bounce telling one countdown something like: 4000+ of you voted this song to be the #1 song tonight. i think it's based on voting. if it weren't, it would be more stable.

We should definitely be hearing it on OHP tonight as well, according to their twitter. If we're lucky, they'll spin it more than once.

Getting off to a pretty good start...I see it ending up around #20, which is a decent peak.

I wasn't looking for an argument. Z100's countdown is random, it's an observation not a hypothesis.

When you take a city like NYC (8million+ people), add all the other Z100 listeners across the US, and you consider that 4,000 votes is all it takes to make a song #1, then yeah, that chart is going to be 'random'. I'm sure there are about 30-40 songs each day getting a considerable amount of requests, leaving the margin to get into the top 9 probably no more than a few hundred votes.
Common knowledge also tells us that people stop requesting when they hear their song played, so it would explain why a song can be number 1 and drop off the next day. People get lazy or complacent, then, not hearing their song the next day inspires them to pick up the phone and vote again, thus, a day @ #1, a day off the chart, a day back at #1.

No, cause most people aren't going to vote based on the previous 9@9. It's a continuous thing. If 4,000 votes was all it took then most fan bases could easily get a specific song to #1 and make it stay there. It never happens.

A #2 showing on the country's biggest CHR is still a positive. So is its apparent airplay on OHP tonight. So is it's great CHR update today. I think this is going to be a hit!

I'm not saying the song isn't getting a great response but do most Z100 listeners bother to vote for 9@9? It's some tiny % at best. Fan bases can have a big effect. Idol fans love voting which is why everyone off Idol wins every song battle.

Of course, it's still another spin and I'm sure a lot of people tune in for the 9@9. It will be interesting to see if this can reach the top 40 before the Christmas freeze. It might if it can keep up the +50 updates.

No, cause most people aren't going to vote based on the previous 9@9. It's a continuous thing. If 4,000 votes was all it took then most fan bases could easily get a specific song to #1 and make it stay there. It never happens. This statement makes no sense. Most fan bases could easily get a specific song to #1 and make it stay there? The simple fact that there are multiple fan bases disproves this theory. Adam Lambert fans could be on it one day, then Kelly fans could be on it the next day. The expectation that a request countdown follow a typical 'climb until you start falling' pattern is just absurd. Fans vote based on what they want to hear at that time, not taking into consideration whether the songs getting spins elsewhere. And I didn't say fans vote based on the previous 9@9. I said fans will choose not to vote once they're hearing their song. Why request a song you're already hearing? Exactly.
