This statement makes no sense. Most fan bases could easily get a specific song to #1 and make it stay there? The simple fact that there are multiple fan bases disproves this theory. Adam Lambert fans could be on it one day, then Kelly fans could be on it the next day.

The expectation that a request countdown follow a typical 'climb until you start falling' pattern is just absurd. Fans vote based on what they want to hear at that time, not taking into consideration whether the songs getting spins elsewhere.

And I didn't say fans vote based on the previous 9@9. I said fans will choose not to vote once they're hearing their song. Why request a song you're already hearing? Exactly.

So then why was Bad Romance #1 yesterday and the day before when it's already in power rotation? ??? Why did Ke$ha drop off from #2 and then not return the next day? ??? People vote for their favorite song. It shouldn't change so drastically from day to day.

I think that this song will hit top 40, but unless it really picks up speed, it won't make it in time for the Christmas freeze, if the RCA mod is right that it starts on 12/15. It needs to more than double its current spins in about 1.5 weeks to hit top 40. If some of the adds start spinning it more, or a bunch more stations come on board next week, it could do it.

Actually, climbing slowly might end up being an advantage. If it starts to peak in a few months, the timing will be just right for him to perform on AI.

No, it isn't taking off like a rocket, but it is growing slowly; sales, however, aren't. And, what does someone else's album have to do with it. Seriously, it isn't that hard to sell more albums than Kris Allen - dude has no buzz and very little promo. But Lambert should be doing far more than he is doing with all of the hype and promo that he has received.

ETA: Elliot's WFY wasn't peaking; it was just getting started. He is also on an indie label; two completely different scenarios.

Because the song still doesn't have a real presence at radio, it is not affecting sales

As for Kris, he won Idol, he has a mainstream appeal so he should sell better. Don't claim that he has very little promo because it is false. He has done lots of radio interviews and gigs before the album release and he is appearing lots of TV shows now- Regis & Kelly, GMA, Ellen, Conan, Letterman, SYTYCD, etc.

anyways, i was never expecting this to make it big on KIIS ... but you never know. Pink's "U+Ur Hand" & "Who Knew" went all the way to #1 and they never added the songs ... with that said, they are not THAT important.

IIRC, WFY was already in the top 10 or at least very close when he performed on AI. ???

Regardless, I think if Adam performs this on AI before it finishes peaking, it would definitely help its airplay.

I'm surprised this isn't doing better on iTunes. It's possible it will need to move up based on spins because the AI is already very good. LLWD made a big jump on iTuneswhen it entered the Top 40 so this probably will also.

Lots of promo next week should help for iTunes.
(I see lots of Xmas stuff impacting iTunes now. That's probably another reason for this showing up at #168)

The video also helped to lift LLWD into the top 100. Unfortunately it's FYE that's getting played on MTV (and will get played on VH1) so that's not gonna help this song. I hope it won't take them that long to make the WWFM video.
