It can get to the top 50 tomorrow, right? If BEP, Pitbull, and Jordin go recurrent, I don't think Timbaland will be able to pass it today (later this week, but not today,) so it will get there, right? I think entering the top 50 tomorrow could help this song get another good adds week. Already +22 in RT but it had OHP spins last week.. KHKS has this in very high rotation already. It's a shame KIIS dropped this to 1 spin a day cause else it'd have three big ones leading the way. I wonder why KIIS did that. 5 days ago they gave it 4 spins, 2 of which during daytime, and all of a sudden they dropped it to only overnight. I wonder if something is wonky with their payola agreement with RCA because that too could explain the sudden drop.

Maybe the point of having KIIS playing it in the beginning was to have other stations noticing it. It is not the kind of song KIIS plays and not the kind of song KIIS plays without being a big hit first. So... they've probably done their part of the deal already.

As far as KHKS, with their top song receiving 102 spins in a week, and this one receiving 30 (almost cracking their top 20), that isn't exactly very high rotation. More like mid-rotation, but still better than nothing. As for KIIS, agreed that it was a payola deal that has been met; this song never fit in their playlist anyway. And, as for the promo issue, I think one would be hard pressed to deny that Lambert has received more hype and promo than anyone coming off of AI, both during and after the show. For a new artist, he is doing respectably in airplay and sales; for one with this sort of buildup, it is disappointing. I don't expect RCA to put this kind of push, payola, whatever you want to call it, behind additional singles, so at some point, he's gonna have to sink or swim on his own.

KIIS didn't even play it overnight today. I guess their listeners complained that it's not urban enough. Oh well, it doesn't need KIIS to get another good adds week. This sounds like something Cumulus would jump on early.

More like mid-rotation, but still better than nothing. Yesterday they gave it 7 spins, up from 4 spins the days before. 6 to 7 spins a day would move it just outside their top 10. But yeah we'll have to see if it was a fluke or indeed a rotation upgrade.

And as for the next singles, it's too early to tell, isn't it? That depends on how well WWFM will do (I hope for top 10) and debuting the next one in Idol could also help. I think WWFM has done well this past week, I think it will have a good adds week in Hot AC considering San Francisco Hot AC station added it to its daily and weekend rotation but hasn't officially added it yet, and I hope that helps it get a good adds week in the Top 40 too.

Some stations end up playing their most played songs more than 2,000 times, that's the equivalent of 100 spins a week for five consecutive months. There's really never anything wrong with moving a song to a higher rotation; it usually goes up and down and up and down anyway during its life on that station. It's not gonna happen that it will peak on all stations at the same time.

Even when KIIS did play it more than once a day, it was usually 1 spin over night and then another either during morning or afternoon drive. I think the point of having KIIS on board was more about bringing in other stations. I said this before, but if I was a PD at another station, I'd more likely take a chance on this song based on the way that KIIS has gone about promoting it, and not the sledge hammer approach that Z100 has used. It's having a good day so far, but a lot of these spins are via the Open House Party. I'm sure that RCA worked out a deal with them, and that the song will be spun two times again tonight, but I do have to wonder if it can pull in this number of spins the rest of the week without the aid of OHP.

Last week on Tuesday\Wednesday it had 23\22 spins. Last week on Saturday it had 75 spins, most of them from OHP. This week on Thursday\Friday it had 73 spins, none from OHP. With a good adds week, it can get the same amount of spins without OHP, but OHP could give it a great push next weekend too, and sorry, OHP played it this week because it was one of their top 10 requested songs. I don't think RCA paid them this week.

Open House Party tweeted that they're playing WWFM again tonight. I wonder how many times... :] Also, Adam is at the Minneapolis Jingle Ball tonight...do they broadcast some of it on the radio?

I could be wrong but I think this will take off for real after the holiday freeze. By that time it's airplay will be higher, he'll be doing more promo, and all the Christmas songs will drop on Itunes making room for this to move up.

I am actually really appreciating this song now. I used to skip it when playing the album but now I go to it after skipping FYE!

^ Same here. The only songs I skip are FYE, A Loaded Smile and everything after Sleepwalker It's a 9 song album for me. Awesome how well those 9 songs and The Fame Monster go together.

Lots of promo next week should help for iTunes. (I see lots of Xmas stuff impacting iTunes now. That's probably another reason for this showing up at #168) up 32 spots to #136 now. i think another week of airplay and will enter the top 100. doing GOOD! :)

''fye'' is currently #136 on the itunes overall singles chart, ''wwfm'' is #181... why are the ohp spins and the airplays increases not translating into sales for wwfm... it's not like a growing audience doesn't know it's out there... especially the z100 listening audience...

Er, Kris's single was getting lots of airplay on Z100 but it was not affecting sales last month.

^^^ Eh, IIRC, it was in the top 50. Then again, it wasn't receiving all of those "based on hundreds of requests" OHP spins, either. But, why does everything have to be based on Kris' single? Adam is no longer an Idol contestant; he's playing with the big boys now and should be judged as such, not as competing with another former AI contestant. The question (a valid one at that) was: Why are sales decreasing as airplay is increasing? If the song is being heard by more people, and those people like the song (that is to say, it is testing well and payola deals aren't involved) and are "connecting" with "superstar" Adam, why isn't that showing on itunes?

Adam is not an established artist, he is a new artist just like Kris. You really seem to be holding a grudge against Adam. What has he ever done to you personally?

Yeah it is very low on iTunes, but at least it's still in the top 200. A song like Carry Out, its direct competition on CHR right now, is nowhere to be found. Heaven Can Wait has a ton more spins but it's only at #274. All we know is that this song is no TiK ToK, which was already top 30 on iTunes before it even hit CHR Top 40.

That was a good sign that it would be a huge seller; almost platinum now and also the prime candidate to dominate Christmas week. WWFM has had plenty of exposure already with TV performances, and radio play in big markets. But it has yet to crack the iTunes top 100. It can still become a radio hit and rack up some consistent sales, but it's just not doing enough right now sales-wise that indicates it will go further than gold.

Then why didn't they do that? Or made it free for a limited time, like Love Song? Why didn't they do something, other than superhype the AMA performance. In fact, the question really is why didn't they do what they usually do for a debut artist?
