Yeah it had to be that way. But if they know that Boom Boom Pow was a bigger hit than I Gotta Feeling, and the latter was higher on the decade chart, that was a clear sign there was something wrong with the formula. Was there no better, more accurate formula they could have come up with? Considering how many chart-experts were woking on this, I'd say there should have been.

But seeing how the formulas changed up this decade I can see there was no better way to calculate the decade lists...

^ I think the way I described above would've been better. Normalize the total chart points based on something like that week's average points total.

Not a great decade for singles, it looks like. Not a lot of memorable stuff. I think the 90's were better.
