darko - ever heard David's ALMA awards performance of Contigo en la Distancia? The audience was all Latino celebs. You can see Rita Moreno clapping in the front row at the end. www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6FsfvxyyT8EDIT - Lady V says David will be writing with her in a couple of weeks

@davidarchie: Arrived in LA! On my way to the first writing session for this week. WOO! And Eman tweeted again that he's working with Claude Kelly and Dave Hodges, so David should be in his writing session with all three. Jordin also tweeted David yesterday saying she can't wait to give David a big bear hug. lol. I seriously would love to hear them duet. Their voices would go so well together.

New tweet @desmondchild: @davidarchie Good luck, David. Break a leg.
Could mean that Desmond is working with David again.

Oooooooooooh... well, if Desmond is working on David's album, then it'll be the first time he would write something for or with David, since "Desperate" wasn't written with David in mind. I love Desmond's work, in general.

Yea, I don't like Desperate but I do like a lot of Desmond's other songs, so a song written specifically for David would probably be great.

I'm excited about David working with Eman, David Hodges, and Claude Kelly. I really hope he is not working with Desmond Child. I hate Desperate. The only song of his I like is Waking Up In Vegas and Katy Perry probably had a lot to do with that.

Desperate sucks but Desmond has written a lot of big hits so I wouldn't mind at all.
If he is working with Desmond, I have to say that Jive has gotten him more relevant songwriters so far than the last album. Desmond and Claude Kelly have both had recent huge smash hits, so...yeah. And of course Eman is great.

Haha, I love Jim Cantiello. Really gorgeous rendition of POTC.
ETA: Claude, Eman and Dave are writing today, but from their tweets it doesn't sound like David is writing with them today, even though he's in LA at a writing session. Sounds like they're still writing for him, but without him. No mention of David being there.
So it could be that David has a writing session with somebody else today. But... who?

David answered my question. lol.
@davidarchie: In the studio working with @themessengersna . Had some Israeli food for lunch for my first time. it was good!
@themessengersna: In studio w @davidarchie, who is quite a good dude
The Messengers wrote and produced Chris Brown's "Crawl" which IMO, is the best song off his new album, and produced "Single (feat. Ne-Yo)" for NKOTB (and wrote/produced a bunch of other songs for NKOTB, like "Summertime").
Also wrote/produced for Jojo, Vanessa Hudgens, and Brandy.
Oh, and apparently most recently worked with Beiber... but I'll ignore that for now. lol.

Hmmm The Messengers seem interesting...seems like he's working with the more "trendy" songwriters in LA as compared to the more singer-songwriter types he was writing with in Nashville (and New York right?).
I still stand by my statement that the writers seem more relevant this time around.
Oh and amazing POTC!!! Seriously awesome. :)

Yeah, the songwriters do seem more relevant this time. I mean, Crush was by Eman and Jesse Cates and Dave Hodges, and they had a hand in My Hands and To Be With You as well, but this time the songwriters are actually writing for David (and I suspect with him later this week), rather than simply handing him songs they had in a pile. Crush fit David well (and I lurve My Hands) but they weren't written with David in mind.
Plus he's got Claude Kelly this time, and his stock has risen since 2008 (especially after Circus and MLWSWY). And I think Desmond Child is gonna write either with or for David. He's never tweeted David before today and he just started following him. I don't think that's a coincidence.
I'm hoping that David's album will be a nice blend of really great CHR pop songs that fit David, and some of the more simple-type songs that David really likes--soulful pop, like James Morrison-type stuff. David's A&R better have his act together this time.

I beg to differ that David is the Bubbly/Buble/Riddle type. I think someone here termed it "pop light." Heh. (Emphasis squarely on the "light.") Obviously, David should never stray far from the realm of R&B, soul, neo-soul, gospel and soul-pop. Think Stevie Wonder, Al Green, Michael McDonald, Sam Cooke, Otis Reading, James Ingram, Luther Vandross, Donnie McClurkin, Mariah, Whitney, Aretha (yes, men can be influenced by women), and even Jason Mraz, Gavin Degraw or James Morrison. www.mtv.com/videos/news/476050/david-archuleta-sings-prayer-of-the-children-for-haiti.jhtmlDavid gave MTV a taste of Kurt Bestor's "Prayer of the Children." Nice work.

Baobabs - I called it light pop, not pop light. What I mainly meant was near-acoustic pop. No loud music or thumping beat or special effects - just David's voice and one or two instruments. Ace Showbiz also did an article about David's impromptu Prayer of the Children www.aceshowbiz.com/news/view/00030345.htmlTheMessengersNA have upped their opinion of David - haha # In studio w @davidarchie, who is quite a good dude about 17 hours ago from Tweetie # We stand corrected....@davidarchie is an AMAZING dude !! lol about 12 hours ago from Tweetie and NasriWorld spilled the title of yesterday's song @davidarchie for all the Archie lovers, the song is called "today"!!

David's gonna be writing with Eman and Andre Merritt today, per Eman's twitter. Andre Merritt co-wrote "Forever" and "Disturbia."

I think acoustic soul pop, like James Morrison, would be perfect for David. I don't like the Riddle on him because it doesn't show his vocal ability. But Bubbly sounded great. probably because it still has that soul influence in it.
I hope David, Eman and Merritt come up with a great uptempo song. Like ZG but more polished with higher production value.

Baobabs - I didn't mention Buble. I do not want David to be like Buble or Groban. I think that's quite different from Colbie Caillat, Jason Mraz, John Mayer type acoustic pop which is what David likes. And David has said he would like to be doing some more acoustic soulful pop. I think David needs a mix of stuff, not just for the album but also for performing. Sometimes people unfamiliar with his music still leave a concert saying "it all sounded the same". I remember some similar comments by a few album reviewers. But my main reason for wanting him to do some "light pop" as I called it is so he's not so rhythmically boxed in with the beats and the bass, he doesn't have to sing as loud to be heard and can do more with his voice, and his singing becomes the focus. And I'd like more powerful ballads with some vocal room. Look at him doing U2's One. www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mdZdsBOxVE@dereksheldon # Interview next week with @davidarchie with me next week for @ainow in the works..stay tuned to @ainow for more information! about 1 hour ago from web (and this ainow twitter and blog) twitter.com/ainowwww.ainow.org/David has donated some autographed stuff for the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra's Hearts for the Arts annual fund drive: archuletafanscene.com/2010/01/26/david-archuleta-autographed-memorabilia-raffle-a2so-hearts-for-the-arts/And I love David Burger :) "Archie's" Plane Lifts Off for Haiti blogs.sltrib.com/burger/index.php?p=10194&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1

^^ LOL. I know. Ergh.
I want them to release a single in like, March. That's not too early, right? If they release a single in late March, the album can come out in late June or July.

I think March would be practical. They're already getting a lot of songs done just this week and I think he'll keep working through most o February. So a single should be ready to go by March.
