YOUR FIRST 2010 WEAKEND CHART PREVIEW: While anything can happen over the weekend, it now appears that Ke$ha will be the one to unseat Susan Boyle from the top of the chart. Here's how the Top 10 looks headed into the weekend: Ke$ha (RCA/RMG debut) 120-125k Susan Boyle (Columbia) 100-105k Alicia Keys (J/RMG) 60-65k Lady Gaga, The Fame (Interscope) 60-65k Mary J. Blige (Geffen) 50-55k Taylor Swift (Big Machine) 40-45k Black Eyed Peas (Interscope) 40-45k Alvin & The Chipmunks, The Squeakquel (Rhino) 35-40k Lady Gaga, The Fame Monster (Interscope) 30-35k Justin Bieber (Island/IDJ) 30-35k In related news, the head of RCA/Jive has just changed the spelling of his name to Barry Wei$s. (1/8a) i might be wrong but last week wasnt a recored broken for having the top 5 be female acts? if taylor swift can stay ahead of the peas that means the recored will be broken again this week

Susan's followers better pick up... Kesha shouldn't be the first #1 of the year/decade! Says who?

Ke$ha will top Susun Boyle for the # 1 album next week. Kat's numbers are underwhelming, not horrid. They could be worse. And doing three late night talk shows near your album release isn't going to do much in these times.

Looks like she'll match Mariah's BB200 T10 weeks this week, and surpass Shania's (I don't remember which album.) next week.
ETA: Oops, I meant to add in the word "sales" after the parentheses.

She'll (Taylor Swift's Fearless) meet Shania's "Come On Over"'s 53 weeks in the top ten next week. She should reach "Up"'s sales soon as well. (Note: Up is certified for 11x Platinum due to being a double album.)

lmao...is there really a big difference between 8k and 15k? either way its a disaster... For an independent album with no hit single and minimal promotion after a three year hiatus coming off of an underperforming debut? I'm not saying 15k is amazing, but it's certainly respectable.

It's pretty much a lock now, Ke$ha will be #1! I'm happy SuBo isn't #1 again, even if Ke$ha is the one that makes her go down.

Kat Mcphee had an album out? lulz. Go K$, 140k is amazing for a new artist nowdays, especially in January. The last pop female to debut with those kinda numbers I think was Fergie right?

I thought Kat's album was actually pretty good. Wish it would do a little more.

so happy for Ke$ha. I just hope her numbers stay consistent and she could reach at least Gold in a couple of months. I just hope RCA releases the right singles.

In September of 2006, nonetheless. And she came from a group who had sold 20+ million albums worldwide in the five years before the release of her debut. 140k for Ke$ha in January 2010 is epic.

I don't know how much Itunes counts towards album sales, but Carrie Underwood has increased quite a bit and has stabalized, so she may crack the top 10???...

Lol, in one week Kesha's album will have over half the sales of the album released in March with the song that featured her until for no reason it no longer officially did...i.e. Roots, Flo Rida.

It really is. Even Britney's debut album (which was also released in January) debuted with 120,500 copies sold.

I'm loving Melanie's consistency on the charts. "It Kills Me" is definitely doing wonders for her. I believe her album will be certified Gold, which would be great for a new Soul singer. But we'll see...
