This is still a good song although 21stCB is much better. Remember too that this is only confirmation that the song will have a video, just as 21stCB did, so it still might not be the one going for adds. Who knows? We'll just have to wait and see.

I think I'm happier with this than "21st Century Breakdown," but I don't think this would do as well.

So, I guess this and "21st Century Breakdown" won't ever be officially released to radio?

I'm really hoping they're not giving up after 3 singles. Another one would be nice.

I doubt we'll see another. They're said to be working on a new album.

Do they plan on not sucking this time? This album was one of the biggest disappointments from a band I love.

I thought the album was great. I dunno. Though I've completely worn down on it now at this point.

This would have been the comeback album had AI not existed. The fact that it followed AI is the only thing that made this not be as epic on the radio as that album.
I think though that they might want to release some more "fun" material and steer away from the political stuff on the next album. I think people are getting tired of too much of it.

Agreed on that. 21st Century Breakdown was similar to my expectations because I figured "What else could Green Day possibly do to top AI?" and it's almost like AI Part II. I'm not sure which album I like better, but I don't want another AI Part III next time with it mostly being about politics and being a concept album. Maybe they should go back to their Dookie, Insominac, or to have a mix of variety, Nimrod roots? However, I'm sure it wouldn't do nearly as well if that was so.

If they did Dookie II , it might just be the right time for it.

I appreciate everything Green Day have done in their career, American Idiot is my favorite album by them, I like 21st Century Breakdown a lot and I love the kind of sound of those two records, but it's indeed time for a change. It would be cool to get a back to roots work, this time.

I would love if they made an album that was the quality of Dookie.

Yeah I definitely have to agree. I see it the same way as with Linkin Park. If Linkin Park HAD released another Meteora or Hybrid Theory, I honestly don't think they would have achieved the success they did with Minutes to Midnight. A band has to explore its sound to stay current, or they will just quickly be forgotten, and that's why Green Day has hung around so long.
If this next one is American Idiot Part 3, I see Green Day as a lost cause.
I'd love a Dookie or Warning part 2 :] Or maybe even a brand new sound.

"Murder City" would have been better for a radio single. Not expecting much from this.

If nothing else this is probably the second best single this era. I sort of like the chorus, and the rest of the song is ok too.

At least they're sending something. I'll be happy if this matches East Jesus Nowhere.

I think the 21st Century Breakdown ship has sailed at this point, at least for Alternative radio, and any new single sent will be lucky to crack the Top 50.

this will be the last single as they've been working on the follow-up to 21CB lately.

I think Dookie or Warning part 2 would be just as bad as American Idiot 3 though. I mean, by the time this album comes out, Dookie will be approaching 20 years old and the band members will be approaching 40 years old. Another Dookie would be a huge step backwards and would sound ridiculously out of place considering the age of the band members Even though I loved both AI and 21CB, I vote for brand new sound. They shocked the world with AI; let's see them do it again.

Actually, after hearing it a few times, I think this has potential. I wouldn't be surprised if this went Top 10.
