Right. And that's what they've been saying since when? 2004? It's beyond obvious that no artist can remain on top forever but she's done a hell of a good job keeping herself relevant for so long. It's true. I don't covet for Beyonce to fail, but the truth is the truth. When she starts to flop, people are really going to gun her down. Mark my words. Watch. People were ready to kill when she flopped during B' Day. Again? No. Why can't you just stop trying? That was beyond weak.

What's rare about Beyonce is that she knows about her career, she's NOT one of those gals who got lost after a huge success and never came back. If she did it twice, then she must know something about it.

Congrats to Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Carrie Underwood.
Great MJ performance! all 5 of them killed it! seriously fantastic vocals on that song. The kids were adorable!
I love Eminem but the whole song was bleeped out! what was the point?
Dave Matthews was robbed. Epic fail there.

Congrats Taylor! Continue adding to the multitude of awards you already received this year. Here's to another year of absolutely huge success.
Also congrats to BeyoncΓ©! An amazing performance and a new record set! She makes it seem so easy.

It's hard for her to fall when she can sing and dance. Also she isn't stuck in one genre like most artists. Like Madonna she can reinvent herself fast. When has Beyonce ever reinvented herself? ???

But surely you guys realize Beyonce's career will slow down at some point, right? It happens to EVERY act. ....except the Beatles. The Beatles disbanded before they had the chance to flop. They weren't even an active recording act for a decade. They would have flopped at some point had they stuck together.

I wonder where Bey and Jay keep all their awards. They could fill a small house with those things.

Congratulations Taylor Swift now please go away now. Love you but I really wanted Lady Gaga to get that one. On the plus side WOOHOO for Colbie! Don't think Taylor is going away anytime soon. If anything, this best album win shows that she's got both popular and critical support on her side. I can foresee a bright future for her in the music industry. Go back and look at every Album of the Year winner and see if that held up for each of them.

Okay then. So if it's not based on reviews, or sales, or personal preference, or awards, how is someone supposed to say that an album is or isn't "quality?" What other criteria is there to determine quality of an album?? There's no indication that Taylor's cd isn't both quality and popular. And, clearly, she's won every industry award with this album, which accounts for something. Fearless is an incredible album, and all four Grammys were well deserved tonight! lol I agree with you. It should be based on sales and I think Grammy's are finally starting to wake up. This year's show was very commercial and that's what it should be all about. Awarding artists that are actually popular and relevant. Every award show is like that. I think there should be an award show based on people IN the industry who clearly know their stuff. I think producers should be voting on production-based awards because they know what sounds good. Writers should be voting for songwriters awards. Vocalists should be voting on singing-based awards. People who are proven to know the crafts in-and-out of how music is made. Those are the people who's opinion I think should be valued for an important award such as the Grammys. Just because something is *popular*, it doesn't make it *good*.

Celine Dion gets nominated EVERY year for one of the major awards. It's awful!

I'm really sorry for Dave Matthews Band. <Big Whiskey And GrooGrux King> is the best work in their 20-year-career. Their ensemble is perfect, songs are very well-written. Besides, It would be best way to praise the lagacy that Leroi Moore has left. It should've been their year this time. Agreed. I didn't watch the show but I got up this morning to see who won. This was the only category/nominee I was rooting for. As for Taylor winning AOTY, to be expected. Let her have her moment. I still think she'll need to improve her vocals to have much of a career in 10 years. The Grammys started going VERY much commericial in their nominations and wins several years ago. If we just went by commericial success, then some of those big pop albums over the years by NSYNC, Britney, BSB, should have one. It's not all about album sales but it is getting more and more that way (unfortunately). I haven't watched this show in about 4 years and I don't see that changing.

Gaga is starting to become a comedy really. It's not shocking anymore just sad now I agree. Pretty soon at award shows people are going to get so bored that its going to be even more comedic. I found it humiliating that she's was holding a actual tea cup at the Grammys.

You never know - there might be some Santana or MJ s tans who can come up with a snappy comeback for that. Beyonce just won 5 standard grammy awards, plus one worth mentioning. She did not receive a diamond plaque this year. She did not have multiple #1 singles this year. This wasn't solely her year. She will NEVER be on the level of MJ. No such talent has walked into the grammy awards since. I'm a fan of B. I have been since 97', but she doesn't compare to MJ. When Mike was in his prime, he finished second to none. He didn't come 2nd, 3rd or 4th. He was that great for decades. The uber B fans can come for MJ when her sales match her accolades and when she get her a year that's her own that the others are so far behind in sales, singles, and stardom. Try again.
