Homegrown is really stable I suspected this might happen - between its own slowed descent, the faster ones for Sam Hunt and Lee Brice (especially the latter!), and the distance down to the trio right below Kenny last week (not to mention that trio's moderate pacing)...there was definitely room for them to stay another week unless things drastically changed; suffice it to say things certainly did not change. :) Sincerely doubt they'll be able to pull it off again next week, though. |

In the opening story of tonight's update, which talks about Kelsea Ballerini, there's this statement:
"It also makes her the first solo female to reach that region [the Top 10] of the chart in several years..."
Can we talk about just how problematically untrue this is?
Why should we make it a habit to shake our heads at Billboard's writing staff these days? Let me count the ways...

It looks like they just goofed with how they wrote it. Obviously they were talking about Kelsea being the first solo female to take a debut single to that part of the chart in a long time (they even said so in the previous sentence). Billboard goofs quite often, but they're definitely not alone when it comes to blogs/websites that cover the music industry.. |

Billboard has made a lot of changes within the last week, so that could be affecting things as well. Additionally, it's possible that there was a photo finish between Canaan Smith and Jason Aldean, so perhaps that has caused a delay while they double check some things? Who knows. If it doesn't come out tonight, it's not the end of the world. |

It's not a big deal. If it doesn't get done tonight then so be it. They'll probably send it out sometime tomorrow then. |
