Unless he's debuting on the Idol finale? Some other tv debut? SNL? DWTS? Even if so, why wouldn't they get it on radio before? I hope the MMVA performance turns out to be true. Even when FYE was debuted at the AMAs, it got an adds date for nearly 3 weeks before the performance. The Idol finale is at May 26th, so in that scenario it should have went for adds at the beginning of May. And also, a single TV debut.. with no early spins nor audience impressions.. how is that going to help IIHY exactly? I don't see BEP's "Rock That Body" in Itunes top 100 after their IGB performance and Alicia's "Unthinkable" peaked at #92.. |

I think Rihanna's Rock Star 101 peaked in the 190's after Idol. So no, it's not all it's cracked up to be. Oh and FYE was already dead by the time the AMA's rolled around. WWFM's adds date was the next day, and had been on the calendar for a while.

Of course, RCA screwed up WWFM's adds date too, and remembered to report said adds date only close to 3PM at Nov. 24.  Adam has Wango Tango in KIIS LA, and they've started giving tickets for his own concert at the end of July in CA. That concert has 8.5K people capacity.. I think that if RCA want a concert as large (compared to his other US venues but Tampa) to sellout, they need to get KIIS on board in the next two weeks.. He's doing enough promo for KIIS to deserve an early adopters support there for IIHY imo, so I hope to see them add soon. |

God, I could write an essay about how badly RCA bungled Adam's single release, but that is for another thread. I sincerely hope they get their shit together for the next album's release.

I just think it is incredibly stupid to wait till a single peaks on HAC and then relase a straight pop song (do Kesha or Gaga or Katy Perry wait till their singles peak on HAC? right....). It would make much more sense to release Sleepwalker a month from now IMO.

I guess they are trying to make sure the poppier HAC stations don't drop WWFM too fast or something? I dunno. That's all I got. I can't figure it out either.
That said I think y'all are freaking too prematurely. Let's just see how it plays out.

Adam just said he'll be shooting the IIHY video next month on the myspace chat. So I would imagine they are gearing up for a end May release/blitz.

End of May is a good time to plan publicity... not only is his tour starting but the crowning of a new Idol tends to lead to a round of press centered around "where are they now?" type pieces, with assessments of where the alums stand, etc. Even pieces covering the new idols will mention the old ones. Popping up around then with something new to talk about is not a bad idea. |

WWFM video was released only on January, two months after the single was released. IIHY video, if shot next month, will be ready in June. They had no problem releasing WWFM months before its MV so why should they suddenly have a problem now? Wango Tango is at May 15, in about 3 weeks from today, Boston is a week after.. if they release IIHY at the end of May they are sending him to do radio promo for nothing (he was already in power rotation at Boston weeks before he was added as one of the last additions to their concert, and KIIS has been spinning WWFM about 40 times per week months before,) so why wait until the end of May? And does it really matter if it peaks at #6 or #4 in HAC? It doesn't matter to me.. |

Songs take A LONG ASS TIME to move up the pop chart these days...look how long it took WWFM! Is there any potential to the idea that RCA's decided to make Adam's international sales more of a focal point than his domestic? I have no clue if that makes anything make more sense, but if he's catering to the Japanese/UK markets and tending to the US as a second thought, does it suddenly seem like RCA has a Master Plan we've been blind to?

This coming from an Adam fan, I don't think he's ever said anything negative about any track on the album. He is a master at self promotion in interviews. Even when asked if he could change anything he says he wouldn't. Come on now, he wouldn't have wanted to trade Time for Miracles for Voodoo or another bonus track? I'd like to hear the story on why it ultimately ended up there, a little cross promo with Sony pictures I'm sure.
I think he likes this one, it's dancy. Is this a Max Martin track? ( I still dislike the verses, but the chorus and bridge are infectious.)
Sabrina, I have often wondered the same thing myself. And I wouldn't blame them nor would I mind as long as it makes RCA money and they keep supporting Adam making albums. WWFM and FYE were charting higher as singles in other countries far quicker than they did in the US. No AMA controversy to hurdle still 6 months later because most international press was 'no big deal' about it.
He'll do his tour gigs in the US this summer, hopefully will have a hit in the UK and start touring internationally. I would think word of mouth will sell his live shows, it's what he does best. And he'll be more free outside the States with his live shows I would think.
UK loves Gaga even more than the US probably, he could push Fever there. Pink is huge in Australia, smart to push WWFM there. Max Martin in Sweden. RCA may have screwed up the US, but internationally they seem to be doing better. And with only a percentage of Idol viewers.
I am still shocked it's #10 on itunes. Pleasantly shocked!

But also - his face when he performs it is pure joy. Now I know he is a good actor and can school his expressions with the best of them, but I don't think it's fake - he really enjoys performing it. Just my opinion! If you mean WWFM, I think Adam has mentioned several times that he fell in love with it the moment he heard it and especially the lyrics. If you meant IIHY... I think it's one of Adams favourite songs on the album. |

Also, both these songs were produced by Max Martin and Adam seems to have a good relationship with him, they've met last month when Adam was in Europe with another writer of IIHY, so I don't think he did it just to have a hit personally. Amazing how it refuses to leave the top 10 on iTunes! Jay-Z is not getting closer and Glee should fall past him soon. Looks like another 100k week. RCA really should've put up an iTunes banner at some point during his run. Would've helped sales a lot.
