YOUR HALF-ASSED WEAKEND CHART PREVIEW: In a week without a debut likely to go north of 10k, Sade has a good chance to hold the top spot next week. Still, a strong weekend from Lady Antebellum (with an Oprah appearance today) could challenge. Here’s the story, morning glory:
Sade (Epic) 175-185k Lady Antebellum (Capitol Nashville/EMI) 160-170k Susan Boyle (Columbia) 70-75k Lady Gaga, The Fame (Interscope) 65-70k Black Eyed Peas (Interscope) 65-70k Lil Wayne (Cash Money/Universal Motown) 65-70k Alicia Keys (J/RMG) 40-45k Josh Turner (MCA Nashville) 35-40k Michael Buble (Reprise) 35-40k Jaheim (Atlantic) 35-40k Mary J. Blige (Geffen) 35-40k Justin Bieber (Island/IDJ) 30-35k tobyMac (ForeFront) 30-35k Taylor Swift (Big Machine) 30-35k Lady Gaga, The Fame Monster (Interscope) 30-35k

Here's why we had no early article
NOTHING GOING ON
It's the post-Valentine's Day malaise, with no new releases breaking 10k this week. Overall, the market was up a robust 17% vs. last week, down 8% vs. same week last year and now down 6% year to date. You can now go back to writing fan letters to Johnny Weir. (2/17p)

Good for Taylor! Fearless should get to 5,6 million. Isn't it already there? I think Lady A may have a chance at getting #1 back. Great for Boyle and BEP!

Truly astounding sales for Taylor. She blows all of the other current albums' sales out of the water! I have no doubt she'd be going diamond if sales weren't so crappy these days.

I am not satisfied with this 33% predicted decrease for Taylor. Hmm.

I think last week they predicted 35-40 and she ended up selling 49,000. Maybe this time she's closer to 35,000.

yeah, this is 2 weeks in a row Alicia will be at 40-45k. it just shows what a little promo and a quality song will do for you.It depends on the artist. Her last three singles have peaked at 60, 27, and 55. A mainstream pop artist would flop hard with those peaks. J Record are very fortunate that artists like Whitney, Alicia, even J-Hud don't need hit singles to sell because otherwise they would be in trouble. They are totally incompetent when it comes to picking singles and don't have a clue about what works on the radio and what doesn't and that's why Leona flopped. They just don't know how to handle a mainstream pop artist period.

Please, Jennifer Hudson barely scanned gold. She isn't even contention. Can a mainstream pop artist go gold without a hit ? Please, artists with Top 5 singles, like: Jay Sean (with a #1 single) Kid Cudi (with a #3 single) Jeremih (with a #4 single) you get the point ;) can´t even reach 400,000 copies sold of their albums. I wouldn't call Hudson´s album a flop. I bet it sits at 700,000 plus copies nowadays.
