I know, if we had some statistics, we might know what the gap was in digital sales last week to compare what they might be this week... as it is, I don't know how many more singles Lady A has to sell than Rihanna/B.O.B. to get #1?

Would Telephone counts as a sixth single? If so, when was the last time an album spawned six top ten songs? i'm not sure. i have a feeling that outside of North America, where the EP was not released independently, all singles coming from The Fame (Monster) are probably all considered releases from one album. However, in the US, they might classify The Fame & The Fame Monster as two different albums since the EP and the fame deluxe edition chart independently on the Billboard 200. However, if they are considered the same album, i think the last album to have 6 top 10 songs. As for the Hot 100 top ten (my predictions): 1. Need You Now 2. Rude Boy 3. Break Your Heart 4. Nothin' On You 5. Imma Be 6. Bedrock 7. Hey Soul Sister 8. Telephone 9. Tik Tok 10. In My Head

Musicsoulerz, you were close - it looks like it's Janet's "janet" album that last had 6. The other five albums to have at least 6 top tens were all released in the 80s and without a re-release (if that's how GaGa is being counted).

Chances are high that Rude Boy will be #1 this week :) Last week Rihanna sold 45,000 more copies than Lady A while this week all she has to sell is around 30,000 more copies to claim the top spot.

I'm hoping either 'Rude Boy' or 'Need You Now' gets the #1 this week. I don't care much for the other two main contenders.

It's weird to think Rude Boy is about to become Rihanna's first song to naturally climb to #1 (SOS, Umbrella, Take A Bow, and Live Your Life all shot to #1 once they were released digitally). Technically Disturbia climbed to #1 too, but I tend to think of it as a case of a delayed reaction, rather than a natural climb.

RB hitting #1 will make up for RTT just missing the top spot. It's a bit strange she's getting all these #1 songs and has yet to produce a #1 album. Increasingly impressive career nonetheless.

if RB is to hit #1, it would give her the most #1's since 2000 for a female artist. Assuming Telephone enters the top 10 this week, she'll once again be tied with Beyonce for Top 10's. They both are also currently tied for Top 20's.

It would really upset me if Lady A's hard work never pays off and they stall at #2. Like someone else said, if Rihanna's label was so aggressive at sending the single out to all radio formats at once (hence the humungous growth in airplay in such a short period of time), why doesn't EVERY OTHER label do that?!?!

That's pretty much a shoot-up.

I think Rihanna will be #1 this week.
Digital Sales: 1. Taio Cruz 2. Rihanna
4. B.O.B.
6. Lady Antebellum
LADY ANTEBELLUM - Need You Now = 116.452 (+1.787) RIHANNA - Rude Boy: 84.943 (+2.834) B.O.B - Nothin' On You f/Bruno Mars: 82.303 (+1.706) TAIO CRUZ - Break Your Heart f/Ludacris: 32.853 (+0.863)

It depends if the artist and the song appeals to all three formats. Every artist can't do it.

well, "Rude Boy" will need to have sold over 30,000 more than NEED YOU NOW to be this Thrusday's #1, which I hope it didn't...... if "Rude Boy" is #1, it's all over for NEED YOU NOW...

We may see a rotation of #1s. I don't think Rihanna will be #1 next week, if she is in fact #1 this week. B.o.B may have an edge on her next week.

The only thing we are uncertain about is airplay... the chart bks posts is the one Billboard uses and it can be vastly different from the mediabase statistics... maybe Lady A has a bigger gain on Rihanna than we can see?

The top spot is up for grabs this week between Rude Boy and Need You Now (though now, knowing their digital sales last week, I'm not sure Lady Antebellum will be able to make up for the sales difference) but Nothin On You definitely has it for the next few weeks (as it and Rude Boy are practically tied in airplay with NOY having the digital advantage).

I would really love to see Lady A get the #1 spot, but I wouldn't be mad if Rude Boy did either! Perfect world, Lady A this week, Rihanna next week :)
But I think this is Rude Boy's week,

It will definitely be annoying if Lady A get blocked by Rihanna. But oh well, at least their album is doing amazingly well.

Why not Lady A getting to #1 this week and then RIRI taking OVA next week? That way the chart will be fresh with new #1 hits. Kesha left a bad taste for nine weeks.

What about Bob?
Lol. I like making jokes just to make me laugh. Hopefully everyone gets it.
To below: Yes. Plus it feels funny to call a hip-hop/R&B artist Bob. Though also making a joke to make oneself laugh refers to America's Next Top Model.
