Those numbers are really good. I completely underestimated Usher.
However, the test for him will be to keep steady. Didn't Here I Stand open up around 440k and peaked at 1.1 million+ units or something?

"OMG" should keep him pretty steady. I hope.

Um, this might get me banned, but this Garyn Fett mess is getting annoying and making some posts hard to read. April Fools is over now.
Anyway, big numbers for Justin. It should be interesting to see how his boss holds up with his second week.
Not bad Monica! I think she is benefiting from the whole shipping thing and the Usher/Erykah releases.
Yes @ Sade holding steady!

Can't stand Usher. He's a fucking tool.
Anyone who mentors someone without taking their sunglasses off deserves to flop.

Well, 350k+ isn't flopping. But neither was 450k (Here I Stand's first week sales).

Um, this might get me banned, but this Garyn Fett mess is getting annoying and making some posts hard to read. April Fools is over now. The admin's April Fools joke was the Pulse Oldies Board. That was up for a few hours. The board was hacked, the admins had their profiles deleted, and the mods lost all of their mod powers. The Garyn Fett thing is all the hacker's doing.

^ Yea, I just read the thread in the Lounge before I read your post. This reminds of what happened a few years ago at AllHipHop.

Bieber will be this year's breakout star. He'll probably be 2x plat. by the end of the summer. And go on to sell very well through the Christmas holiday.

I'm not surprised at all at Beiber's success. He falls right in the same loop as Miley, Hilary, The Jonas Bros., so forth. Kiddies and older audiences seem to support their favorite artists more. Anything in between is a different story.

what i like about bieber is that he has no backing from disney, and i think that may help him in the future
he should do a rerelease for christmas, My World 2.5 or something

Anything in between is a different story. The 18-35 demographic might be suffering from the recession also. It's an obvious statement but that would explain why some of the music catered to that demo isn't selling as much as it was 3-4 years ago.

No, I hope they milk this version of the CD out and allow him to take a break and come back with some fresh material. There is no need to oversaturate the market with him like Miley's label does with her. He just released an EP.

Wow. Congrats Bieber. Where are all the haters that said Monica would sell more than him because her shipments are in??? Yeah, Didn't think so. (Don't get me wrong I like both Bieber and Monica).

No one said that. People were saying that Monica probably could have challenged him first week if she didn't have shipment problems.

Keep in mind that Easter week is cushioning Bieber's second-week drop- recall when 50 Cent debuted with 800K+ and stayed above 800K in his second week (which fell during the week of Easter). And, Bieber is a safe purchase.

I hate Bieber. I was kind of hoping Usher would flop and that he would realize how much his new music sucks and make him do something better.
