WOW! That's crazy for Justin Bieber! Congratulations! Gold after 2 weeks! You an tell a lot of the younger skewing CDs are selling. Probably parents buying CDs for their kids for Easter. I know I always got a gift bag for easter from my parents. And I can't remember any albums going higher in their second week after charting in the top 10 the previous week, in recent history. (Especially after a #1 debut). Good for him.

Usher's promo blitz + Holiday sales helped his debut out. But where does he go from here? Interesting question. But looking at the radio charts right now he's got plenty of radio exposure to keep sales steady IMO.

I think I remember Avril selling more in her second week after debuting in the top...10? Didn't she increase weekly sales for 2-3 weeks? Looking at BB's site it debuted at no. 8. Kids friendly albums (Disney, Kidz bop, Taylor Swift etc.) gained a lot this week... I wished Bieber outsold Usher -> the kid would've been the lesser of the two evils...

I wonder if Usher will get another week at #1? Or will Bieber take it?

I think Bieber is pretty much a lock for #1 next week.

Not sure if it was her 2nd week, though.

What are the total sales for the BEP's album? If we add the HITS from this week (which we know aren't the official numbers) they will be at 2,353,336

Answering my question: www.billboard.com/news/usher-scores-third-straight-no-1-on-billboard-1004081058.story#/news/usher-scores-third-straight-no-1-on-billboard-1004081058.storyThere's no doubt that Easter basket shopping helped sales of Bieber's album in its second week, as the bunny holiday fell on Sunday, April 4, the final day of the sales tracking week. That second-week gain (from a No. 1 debut) is incredibly rare. It marks the first time a No. 1-debuting album -- issued on a traditional Tuesday release schedule -- has posted an increase in its second week since 2002. Back in the week ending March 31 -- also Easter week of that year -- the "Now 9" compilation fell from No. 1 to No. 2 but with an 11% gain (moving from 419,000 to 463,000).
The last time an artist or group's album, released on a Tuesday, had a second-week increase from a No. 1 debut was even earlier -- during Thanksgiving week of 2000. That's when the Beatles' hits set "1" claimed an 11% increase in its second frame, moving from No. 1 the previous week (595,000) to No. 2 that week (662,000).

It declined in its second week so the record is not hers. Never meant to say the "record" was hers. I just remember her having a remarkable increase in her post-release weeks.

Although I'm not denying her success, the feat seems greater in April than in December. But both did get help from holidays.

SuBo's feat was incredible. Barely none of these big named artists sold passed 200k first week during the holiday season except Mary and Alicia, and look at how moderate their success has been. You can't deny that woman's success. She is still selling consistently as well.
