I doubt Monica would have sold as much as Bieber, even with a few more shipments. And, shipment issues could be an "issue" for any act that releases an album. It's tough to prove one way or another, as some outlets always will be short of a CD.

Monica did well, but I doubt she would have challenged Bieber, regardless of any shipment "problems." Besides, any act can have those issues- stores are short on particular CDs on a regular basis, I gather.

Well, either way, Monica did well. It's a huge step up from her mega flop, and not to start anything, she is doing more in her 2nd week than Brandy did in her first during the Christmas season in 2008. She'll probably be a consistent seller, but that all depends on her promo and single choices. ETM is doing wonders for her.

Monica experienced the typical 2nd week drop. I thought it would have been more for some reason. Justin's small drop is crazy though. I'm really intrigued to see his third week sales. It helps that he has another EP/album in stores too.

I'm talking specifically about the 2nd week. I know Lady Gaga, for instance, probably had other weeks bigger than the 1st. Although I imagine that it might be common for albums launched by more unknown acts that sell like 3k first week and aren't that front-loaded.

I'd be interested to know the last time this happened to an album that debuted at no. 1, or in the top 10/20 etc.

I didn't realize Easter helped sales either? Since when do people give CD's as gifts to each other on Easter.. and since when was Easter an ideal holiday for people to go out in droves and buy CDs??? I don't really get it...

We always gave gifts on Easter. My mom still sends me a "basket" with candy and other small treats. Maybe in some cultures it is different?
