*For my MT40 chart (which is based off of songs I own on CD/Digital), it started back in 1995.
Chantal Kreviazuk has spent about 106 weeks at #1.
She also has the record of most #1s with 23.

The longest running #1 song: Leading Me Home by Chantal Kreviazuk which has been at #1 for 14 weeks back in 2002. Nearly a dozen songs have had 13 week runs at #1 but nothing has beat the record since.

*For my The Max 100 chart which is based off of pure personal taste that I've been making since 1998:
Chantal has the record here too. Something like 57 weeks perhaps? Just over a year anyway. She also has the most #1s here as well with 12. (The nearest is Alanis with 8 #1s and KT Tunstall just got her 7th).

The longest running #1 is Nobody's Home by Avril Lavigne with 17 consecutive weeks. The next runners up are U Want Me 2 by Sarah McLachlan and Telephone by GaGa, each with 14 weeks.
