In that interview she talked about the video being about living halfway between fantasy and reality. Didn't she say that Bloody Mary is kind of about that too. Maybe the next single is Bloody Mary.

The mermaid thing makes me think it's Marry The Night. But jazzysoul has a point - many of her videos don't usually mesh with the songs on paper so it could be anything.

Except, I don't really think a fantasy/reality video works for a song like You and I :/ People are probably pissed she is doing mermaids too. All I heard from the people who love TEOG is OMG MERMAIDS ARE SO STUPID AND HORRIBLE GAGA IS SO SMART NOT TO DO THEM!!!

All I heard when the video for TEOG was talked about and eventually released was the disappointment that she didn't include mermaids in the video. Some of the really, really passionate TEOG video lovers were the ones attacking mermaids as stupid and horrible so maybe they were just doing that in the name of TEOG?  Anyway, there are a lot of things I excuse about Gaga since in a lot of ways she is flaw free. Forgetting what a radio friendly song is? I can live with it since the overall cd is good. Getting stuck in the lingerie/fishnets fashion mode? Fine, she still looks like a goddess in other styles and photoshoots. The occasionally whack-a-doo interview with her sobbing about incoherent stuff? Ok she can be really funny and down to earth other times especially when she is with fans. Her insane amount of talent overall makes me favorable about her. HOWEVER, this is one thing I absolutely cannot ever reconcile. Agreed. I don't like him at all. He's just an awful person but it seems like he's not as awful as he used to be so maybe she's a good influence?
I think she just keeps him around in that sense of "keep your friends close and your enemies closer".

I think it's either Marry the Night or a remake of The Edge of Glory video. LPL has a great point about Yuyi standing for You & I, but the mermaid could be named after that song and still appear in a video for a different song. The songs on Born This Way tie into each other in many different ways like that with the Electric Chapel being in the Judas video, HML reprising the Born This Way lyric, etc. Marry the Night is the song that hits on the topic most, living halfway between reality and fantasy and dualities (I'm a winner/I'm a loser).
I noticed when the interviewer asked her about individual songs on the album, she went through a list and when she got to Marry the Night she started saying, "I'm really excited..." but then she stopped.

^^ Well actually You & I in Spanish would be Tu y Yo.. I think most people are just saying SPanish and which would be Y. Not the entire title in Spanish. I hope everyone is correct in saying it is not You and I though. TEOG could be dominating Hot Ac and Ac for awhile to come so why send out a song that would challenge on those formats too? I would prefer a more pop-centered upbeat track followed by You and I. |
