I like Adele but I think the album, overall, is pretty weak. Why take Adele down? Adele and Gaga both have great, strong albums. While they are immensely different, both are quality pieces. Nobody should insult Adele to "prop up" Gaga; it is completely unnecessary. LOL. It's his opinion. He didn't call her fat.

I wasn't really putting Adele in the pop category with my statement-I do love the album though and I do think 21 would be submitted under pop.

21 is a POP album. Adele is a POP artist. She even said so herself.

On Lady GagaI’m all about women working together and supporting each other and learning from each other, and I feel like sometimes women get a bad rap. It’s like we’re competitive and we can’t respect each other especially if we’re both out around the same time – they think we’re going to kill each other. And it’s all about women learning from each other, and I respect talent and I respect people that work hard – and good people. I love Gaga. I mean, if she didn’t perform and she wasn’t a singer, just as a human being I love her to death. But on top of it, she is the most talented pop star right now, and I’m so happy for her. It’s just really inspiring to see someone who just creates their own destiny and comes up with their own looks and writes their own songs and choreographs and is in control and is not contrived. If you took away every bit of costume and she just sat in front of a piano, she would still tear it down. She’s just that talented, and she deserves it all. And I’m just happy to work with her. I love her. ~ Beyonce Credit: necolebitchie.com Full article www.pridesource.com/article.html?article=48242

What other genre would 21 fall under? Alternative tbh. I mean yeah, NOW it's popular but it's an alternative album. I don't think that 21 fits in with the likes of Phoenix, Death Cab For Cutie, Silversun Pickups, and Foster the People. "Rolling in the Deep" fits in, yes, but the album as a whole is a pop album. Alternative wouldn't touch anything else on the album (bar "Rumour Has It" maybe) with a twenty foot pole. I see Best Pop Vocal Album working out like this: Adele Gaga (if she doesn't go for the dance category) Bruno Mars Two wild cards.

I agree - 21 may not be a dance-pop or radio-pop album but it is pop, more than it is rock, alternative, r&b, etc.
I'd like Born This Way to be submitted to Dance so it has a better chance at winning. It could be the 3rd consecutive year where she has a Grammy winning album. I'm curious to see which tracks are submitted where. BTW, TEOG and Y&I all seem pop while Judas is dance...but as Judas flopped, perhaps they'll send BTW to Dance Recording for a better chance at winning? We know Y&I is Gaga's favorite but TEOG was a big hit so I'll be curious. Don't know which one will go for ROTY/SOTY.

Why can't Gaga submit BTW for the best pop album and best dance album category?

I don't think that's allowed. I believe you can only submit a song/album/record to one genre.
HITS is reporting a 13% increase in album sales to 27k this week. Finally.

Giant Tiger played "Bad Kids" today, while I shopped around. Sounded amazing.

Giant Tiger played "Bad Kids" today, while I shopped around. Sounded amazing. Such an underrated track. Its one of my favorites, and I think it would work as a single, too, since its shorter in length and not too obscure for radio.

I mean yeah, NOW it's popular but it's an alternative album. putting 21 up for best alternative album would be a slap in the face for alternative artists. There is nothing alternative about that album. if anything, it COULD have a chance of being nominated for best rock album if they decide to lean away from pop, but that wont happen.

Gaga was absolutely brilliant tonight on 'So You Think You Can Dance'. Her advice was really good and it was obvious that she is a true watcher of the show.

She was really kind, and well educated on the show indeed. I actually enjoyed the show as well, even though I never watch it. I can't wait to see her performance tomorrow.

She needs to perform EOG and lead into Y&I. We need to start making people aware that this is the next single so they can start checking it out IMO.

I don't typically watch SYTYCD (I did religiously last year, but this year didn't hold my interest after 1-2 episodes), but I had to tune in after seeing all the Gaga promos.

'So You Think You Can Dance' recap: Bad romance July 27, 2011 | 9:01 pm 1119 OK, I think that as of Wednesday night’s episode, the celebrity guest judge thing on "SYTYCD" has gotten out of hand. I felt bad for Rob Marshall, who's an acclaimed EGOT (if the "G" stands for "Golden Globe")-winning director and choreographer, but who was totally overshadowed by Lady Gaga's presence on the judging panel.
I know Lady Gaga has some very passionate fans out there, so let me be clear: I like Lady Gaga as an artist (my workout playlist wouldn’t be the same without her) and she seems like a decent and talented person. But whether she meant to or not, Lady Gaga took over the show and sucked the air out of the room. I don’t doubt that she cared about the performances and is an experienced-enough artist to offer some useful advice, which she did at times, but between her outfit and the quipping and the shoe-throwing and the near-constant criticism of the choreographers, she distracted from the actual performances on the show. It got to the point where I was grateful for the fly that landed on her big, dumb red hat at one point because it proved that although Lady Gaga can distract us from what we’re watching, at least something can distract us from her.
Aside from all that, I don’t think this episode measured up to last week’s. It’s no surprise that Sasha and Melanie had the best night (also? I’m getting sick of the judges telling the dancers who their favorites are. It’s not useful and I feel bad for the dancers who haven’t gotten to hear that.) My dirty secret is that none of Sasha or Melanie’s dances were close to being my favorites from the season. I thought Sasha and Pasha’s quickstep was charming but, as Rob Marshall said, the genre didn’t really let her light shine. The judges adored Melanie and Neil’s jazz routine, but the more '80’s-themed a Melanie Moore dance is, the less I can get into it (which is probably why I much preferred the dance she choreographed for Tadd and Lauren Froderman). Melanie’s leap into Neil’s arms was pretty amazing, however. And while I’ve wanted Sasha and Melanie to dance together for a long time, I expected so much from their Sonya Tayeh dance together that I didn’t feel like I quite got the transcendent moment I wanted. And then the celebration after the dance just got out of hand.
I did think Jordan also had a strong night thanks to the sexy and powerful "Nutbush City Limits" dance she performed with Ade that showed off all her spunky bendiness. I also liked her Rumba with Jess more than the judges did. Marko had 75% of a very good night as well. "I Know It's Over," by Sonya Tayeh and performed with Allison Holker, was gorgeous, although I think it’s a bit of a shame that after Marko called out to his near-apoplectic mother in the studio audience, Nigel decided that the takeaway of the performance was "call your mom." I also think that Marko did pretty well in the hip-hop routine that Nappytabs choreographed for him and Ricky, but Ricky wasn’t quite as strong as he was, which hurt the performance. I think the dance, being about a cleaning crew and all, was on the verge of being a little hokey. After the performance, Tabitha and Napoleon exchanged looks like they knew Lady Gaga was going to criticize the use of props and the dance in general and she totally did.
The night just felt "off" to me, but who knows, maybe I was off-kilter myself thanks to my Fox affiliate constantly switching in and out of high definition because of tornado watches. Am I crazy? Did you love Lady Gaga? What were your favorite dances? And who is your favorite dancer thus far whom a judge has never called his or her favorite dancer? I’m going to go with Iveta.
