I'm assuming the single will be debuted at the Grammy's and Feb 19th is after the Grammy's. It may get a few radio exclusives before the Grammy's but for most people, I bet that will be the first time they ever hear it.

Rumours:

Originally, "Born This Way" was NOT intended to be the 1st single, but that has now changed.
On New Years we will get a promo shot from the Born This Way era.
We will also get the official album release date on New Years'.

& they might do it on Christmas rather than New Years!

I hope none of those 'rumors' are true. From the sounding of things it does not sound like BTW should be a single, especially a lead single. Christmas is like 4 days away...way too early for a promo shot and official release date. They're better off waiting until New Years or after.

If "Born This Way" is a ballad like it seems to be, she is ballsy and just gained so much more respect from me. I love when artists take risks.

I meant it like a rumor coming out a few days before Christmas like that. I'd have expected more of a buildup to promo shots or official release dates.

Gaga has yet to blow me away with any of her ballads. If she were to release one as a first single and a grat one at that, some props should go her way. She is known for her risk taking. BRING IT WOMAN!

GaGa was named as Vogue's Best Dressed Celebrity of 2010. Also, GaGa was named the Top Charitable Celebrity by Do Something

GaGa will appear on the cover of Vogue in March (perfect promo for the album and newly-released single)

I hope it is something a little unexpected without trying too hard though. The more I look back at it the more I love the Fame Monster covers. Unexpected, people hated them, but they stuck out and it also wasn't just her forcing crazy outfits and looks into a picture.

I don't want to overstate the case for our new decade's first breakout star, but I can't help hearing 2010's pop music—at its schlockiest and its most inspired—in terms of the Gaga Effect. On the one hand, opportunistic label hacks interpreted the Gaga phenomenon as a call to the dance floor—specifically, the dance floor of a trashy European discotheque, possibly located in Paris or Berlin, but more likely stashed away in the coke-addled collective memory of the 1980s. Everyone from Christina to Usher to Ke$ha tried to cash in with their own bombastic club records, but anyone who thought that manufacturing "the next Gaga" was as easy as stacking synths behind their pop star of choice was mistaken. Gaga wasn't challenging her fellow musicians to a dance-off, she was challenging them to get smarter, get stranger, and go for bigger hooks and concepts.

Take Robyn and Kanye West, who between them fill one-fifth of the spots our singles list. 6. Lady Gaga and Beyoncé, "Telephone." Lady Gaga originally wrote "Telephone" for Britney Spears, though, as someone who likes to dance and resents having to take my phone everywhere, I could believe that Mama Monster wrote the song just for me.

Britney's probably regretting her decision to pass on the tune, but there's no doubt that her loss was the dance floor's gain. It came out of the box with a seemingly inexhaustible supply of hooks and a genius double-timed verse, but, for DJs, it was the gift that kept on giving, inspiring countless club-destroying remixes (picks of the litter: Passion Pit and Alphabeat). And thanks to Beyoncé's hysterically overdriven solo, it's also one of the rare marquee pop collaborations that lives up to its potential. MC

I think a great cover for Born This Way would be a photo of Lady Gaga really stripped down, with a wig on that would match her natural hair color. Normal makeup. Nothing crazy. Just her, the way she was born before all the crazy outfits and theatrics.
