I absolutely adore this song. My favorite bit is the "I can get your heart racing in my skin-tight jeans, be your teenage dream tonight, let you put your hands on me, in my skin-tight jeans, be your teenage dream tonight" lines. I completely agree with D. and his assertion that this will be Katy's defining era. She is poised to become the next phenomenon of music (similar to Taylor/GaGa).

I'm still thinking this will stall somewhere around #10 on its run to the top. If this goes no. 1, it'll be a testament that radio will eat anything Katy puts out this era.

Unfortunately, I must agree with this. Although I love this song to death almost, I don't see this going any higher than #3, on CHR radio that is. The Hot 100 may be another kind of story, on the other hand. Who knows, though?

If this goes no. 1, it'll be a testament that radio will eat anything Katy puts out this era still has good taste in quality music. fixed ;) in other news, her falsetto voice is just so hypnotic. Once you start you just can't stop listening for anything.

The vocals and production are spot on, not to mention it's catchy as hell. It's nothing revolutionary, but it definitely serves its purpose. Her name's gonna help a lot, but the track's just as worthy.

^That's my thoughts on the song too. It's a decent pop/rock song and I think it's good, but I don't think it's anything particularly special. I actually really like the beat, vibe and lyrics but I think the melody is very weak and unmemorable and the verses are actually quite terrible to me. I'm kinda 50/50 on this song still but it is growing on me. that's exactly the kinda response that is expected upon first listens. Just you wait... Gurl, I've been listening and listening... how much longer do I have to wait before Goddy Perry come through the speakers and SHOWS ME THE LIGHT!? I love the bridge and pre-chorus though.

This has now officially grown on me and I like it a lot now. It's a grower but it's a great song once you get used to it.
Still not hearing a #1 CHR hit though, it doesn't sound like something radio would be willing to give 12,000 spins a week to - again, I can see a run similar to Pink's Sober. I think this will still be huge for her though and might even mature her image a bit.

The bridge and the pre-chorus are the only things remotely good about this song bubblegum dreck. But yes, it will be a Top 5 hit, easily. Bah.

personally, I love the verses just like the other parts of the song, I find the beginning to be pretty epic when she goes "you think I'm pretty without any makeup on, you think I'm funny when I tell the punchline wrong..."

This song is the most vulnerable I've ever heard her, which probably lends to the reason I love it so much.

Am I the only one that thinks this sounds a bit like My life would Suck ??
I like this song, but instead that it is growing on 2 me, it is growing off me.. Not trying too be negative.. But i am feeling this 2 be the next "I do not hook up"
Songs like I Like it and Dj got us fallin' in love will hold this from going 2 the top..

Nah, LWS >>>>>>>>>>>>>TD, and I don't hear any similarities between the two either. This chorus does remind me a little bit of 'You Get What You Give,' I figured that out last night, it was driving me crazy. Am I the only one?
